um... no not with vp9! In vp8 the ball did indeed roll letting you see its back image but in vp9 that was taken out> I don't know why, but it makes for odd ball rolling effects if you use an image on it. as it just kind of slides around the tabletop.

Then you need to check out my Avro Arrow Tribute table Faralos... The ball rolling effect does indeed work in VP9, and it works very well. wink.gif

really? I was even told thru posts on here that it didn't roll, ok I take back what I said and will check out your table for the ball rolling! I can't get it to work on my version of vp9! it just slides around the table all the time.

Here's a current pic with the above mentioned things implemented except the loops. The loops will, as soon as I get good pics of, have light cycles as the decor.

I'll be getting the light cycle pics from the incoming Tron dvd (hopefully the dvd, it could be the vhs version) I should be getting in a couple of weeks. Google and a few other sites I visited simply didn't have the "right" pics for me to use the way I want to use them, not to say they were bad pics, just that I need certain pics to be able to use the way I need to use on the loops. I know I sound picky here, feel free to heckle! biggrin.gif

It is being put on the back burner for now until I can get a dvd of the movie so I can get screenshots and audio clips to use on the table. Don't worry, I have not forgotten about this table.biggrin.gif

Thanks! I've been in "Tron Mode" lately, with the new movie coming out and I just got my Tron arcade cabinet
mostly working as of last night. Video is fine, and its playable, just no audio.

if it's just audio check for easy crap like busted wires it may just be a speaker that's unplugged, at least the monitor works as they are a bitch to fix!

It's a problem in the sound IO board. I have a two Tigers PCB I'm going to try plugging in tonight. If I get any audio
out of that, then I'll swap the IO over to the tron PCB and swap the roms over. There's an IC on the board that if you
touch the sides of the chip, you get a buzz from the speakers, so wiring Isn't the problem there, nor the driver board.

That's the problem when you deal with stuff this old. I remember playing this game in the arcade when "I" was a kid. smile.gif

see if you get at least a buzz out of them that'll mean just a chip and not the entire board! good luck, keep us posted! But, and I hope you did this already, check out those speakers, just to make sure they are not blown out! i have seen it happen

Looks like this table will REALLY be on the back burner for a long while unless I can get a copy of the dvd from a rental service. I just looked on Amazon and saw the dvd selling for $115. The vhs version wasn't much cheaper. Crooks! >:

I read that the Tron DVD was last made in 2002 and it's since been sold out most places, which is why it's so expensive, but they're going to be releasing a remastered version sometime in the next few months. More than likely it'll be before the new movie hits home video. So soon we can all get a good copy of it at a regular price. I guess it's a good time to invest in blu-ray...

That's good news Shooby! If faralos and his girlfriend can't find me the dvd, then I can wait a while longer. Still trying to get my coding fixed on my Hogan's Heroes table where the scoring isn't delayed on some things. I am so behind schedule. biggrin.gif

I hate to even suggest this, but since it's not available from the original source, why not download a copy? I'm sure you
could find a high quality DVD rip online someplace.

I have the 2 DVD version and it's well worth it... if you can find a copy for less than $115. That's just crazy!

It's in the "Disney Vault" until next year - that way they can release an anniversary dual edition with the original and sequel together for more money. By not having it available it supposedly builds 'demand' for the product. I don't think Tron is worth more than the $5 bin today and the sequel should have been free admission. The video game was 20 times better than either movie. smile.gif

Well, i think everything that counts at the moment is "Tron Legacy" !!!

So maybe it could be implented as an idea or a feature or something !!!

what about that ?!
