I really LOVE bam headtracking, since I started using it I can't play any other way.
But there is a problem with the brightness of the ball on some tables, for example in Fish Tales from VPW.
Does it happen to anyone else? Do you know how to solve it?

Hi there!
Just 1 question,mate:
do I need a 3d tv,monitor to fully enjoy this headtracking experience?
Or a normal tv,monitor is also able to do it,of course with the proper gadgets and programs???
Thanks in advance!

You only need the required equipment listed in the first post.

Normal TV/Monitor, the best video card you can afford of course!

Unfortunately, after almost a year of running BamHeadtracking with Kinect2, it is now failing. I can't really tell if it I a new driver, or something else in Windows11, but now my Kinect intermittently disconnects and reconnects.
It now does not stay on for an entire session.
I am running latest windows 11, driver for Kinect is 2.2.1905 .

I've tried rollback driver with no luck.

Anyone else or the original dev see the same issue?

Hello!

Sorry for the late reply, the issue is: you revoked the microphone access from kinect. If you do that, the kinect constantly start up and down again.

I managed to get BAM head tracking running using a Kinect v2 connected to a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-A port on a Intel z690 motherboard running Windows 11: Go to System → Sound → Properties for the Kinect microphone device and disable Audio Enhancements. This prevents Windows from injecting DSP effects that cause USB resets on Kinect v2 composite devices. That fixed it for me, no driver reinstall or hardware changes required.

I followed the guide and got it setup with calibration.  I ran a FP table, however I don't get the 3D depth effect at all.  What am I doing wrong.

I´ve tried BAM with Kinect 2 with FP and VPX.

BAM is not a real 3D effect.

BAM is a 3D perspective effect in a 2D TV playfield that change your POV from your point of view.

If you close one eye as any camera is, you will feel a 3D effect.

Unfortunatelly, a good 3D depth are VR and 3D passive LG TV.

@Emanoel299

I know its not real 3D but I'm not getting the images I see on youtube nor anything with a shifting perspective.  When I close 1 eye it still looks the same as with 2 eyes.  The static cam view is the same as with the Kinect View.  I'm sure I'm missing something or a setting that is not turned on.  Do I have to do something in the 3D settings?

Youtube video are made with a monocular camera where a "fake" 3D view as one eye.

I followed the great tutorial on the top of this topic.

Try to check again step by step what happen and if is missig something.

Also, adjust the BAM tracker is hard a bit.

Been following the tutorials while building a VP cabinet with students.  Firefox flagged an issue with the BAM download from ravarcade.pl, so I uploaded it to virustotal.com.

The result was:

    Trojan.Win32.Agent.vl!n

    HVM:Trojan/MalBehav.gen!D

    BScope.Trojan.Fsysna

https://www.virustot...c652d7e47081c58

So, BAM is off the table for now.  Opentrack readily provides X, Y, and Z variables which would be nice to import directly into Visual Pinball X.

https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack

But I don't know of a way around BAM.  Any thoughts?

Here is the version 2.5 of my tutorial to play VPX in 3D mode
With:

  • The launch from Pinup
  • Activation/deactivation. Kinect at the same time as launching and exiting a table.
  • The ability to launch any table in 3D, from your visual pinballx base folder.

.......
PLEASE HELP
 [list]
[*]- do I need 2  INI files now if I want to be able to switch in popper normal vpx and kinect?
I presume yes (how to set that up?) becaue everything saved in GL is copied to regular version...(checkbox BAM carries over)
[*]- what do I add here: " in the Game Manager, for each table, you have to add this in the Alternate Run Modes box:"??   SOLUTION   =   3D

For all fellow anaglyphic 3D and/or BAM head-tracking enthousiasts who would like to easily switch between these modes and good old pancake mode for VPX in PinUP Popper:
