@krisitian : Yeah. I saw that ... from back then. UW - well, i'm lazy. Uncle Willy made the vp9 from your vp8. Well. I understand. The Multiball is a novelty. I just would like to have it available as a mod, since does exist as such in the real world. Anyway, appreciate your feedback.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

UPDATE 1.0.1
- adjusted right flipper
- fixed droptargets
- fixed ball movements when resting on the left flipper.

Thanks kristian for your input. Nice to see you back in the forum.

The right flipper: I simply made it shorter, as you suggested. I tried moving it, but it was easier to simply made it shorter. It works the same, only that it doesn't hit the ball.

The droptargets: that was a script error. I'm so used to use the SolDropUp in the solenoid calls, that I missed that in this table it should be SolDropDown.

The left flipper: the ball was restless when resting on the left flipper. In VPX the ball doesn't like it so much when it is resting on a thin wall (or ramp), so I made that left lane metal wall non collidable and I added an invisible normal 50 units high wall :)

And about the multiball version: I'm not sure if this version is supposed to work at all, but I updated the table with the same changes.

Thanks JP. You can be sure that I will play this table to hell and back. :D

Looks absolutely insane. You did hell of a job.

And by the way JP... you HAVE to recreate Flash Gordon. It's one of the top solid state Bally tables and nothing less than your version will do for me. :D

PS: Black Knight VPX version needs a similar backdrop than AP and the gate sound when the ball arrives to the upper playfield. I recall it was intact in your VP9 version. Also the elasticity of the upper playfield rubbers have to go down and 4.5 slope feels more authentic.

Other than that it's fantastic. Light years better than the Pinball Arcade version.

I'll see if I find nice resources for Flash Gordon. I have never played this table (not in real life or VP) so I guess I need to play it to see how it is :)

I'll take a look at Black Knight. I didn't make a backdrop since it was a table I made for a few friends and they use cabinets. But I can always add it :)

Too bad about the Multiball Mod - sure, not a MustHave - but would be cool, also there's a nice LED Mod for this Table,
then i would Keep both ... :(

Fuck the multiball mod. Never liked that hack. :D

This table is pure art and it plays perfectly (although slope 5 might feel more genuine)... the rules are perfect, artwork is perfect, sounds are totally freaky alien... and JP VP conversion is perfect. How can you even hack perfection?

This recreation shows nicely how far you guys have taken this thing. My version was considered nice looking back in the day but when I looked at it again after this one I almost puked. :D It plays well though.

I was less than 7 years old when this was released. Black Knight and Alien Poker impressed the hell out of me back then and they still do. The guy who made artwork for these (forgot his name already) was a genius. I remember just watching this in awe in my local arcade when it was new.

Edit: Was it Tony Ramunni for BK? Forgot who made AP.

Have to agree with you here Kristian. Black Knight and Alien Poker are both excellent tables and the recreation of them are very good.

Yeah Black Knight was intimidating as hell. It had this scary speech in the attract mode. When I was 7 I was penniless most of the time (because all my pocket money went into these machines... later to the video games too) and I had to wait until the big boys started playing. I was always watching.

Black Knight 2000 is just a pussy nickel and dime impersonator compared to the original Knight. :D

This table plays f*cking beautifully. Even the saucer shots feel absolutely like genuine. You can hit the left hole with both right flippers and the upper left hole shot is pretty much spot on. The upper JOKER shot sometimes causes draining just like on real machine. Slope 5 is definitely correct and more realistic than 6. It's very challenging with 5 as well... doesn't need any extra speed.

My old VP8 table played well but this surpasses it. Somehow the difficulty level is much higher, but it's FAIR difficulty... genuine difficulty... not frustrating difficulty (you know what I mean). This is probably due to better VPX ball physics.

I think this might be the best VPM conversion ever made. At least it's the best I've played. And that is a lot to say... PacDude made some really well playing tables.

PS: Not yet 3 mil but I'm getting there. ;)

I have never played the real table. Actually I have only played just a few real tables of all the ones I have done, so it is a kind of a miracle that they play close to the originals :)

When you set the objects correctly to proportions, put everything in correct places, use the correct flipper angles there's little you can do.

Sometimes the end result just works, sometimes not. Big part must be the VPX new ball physics too. The physics feels much more genuine now as the flippers are "alive" when the ball hits them harder, etc. Unlike say, Baby Pac-Man, this is also relatively simple and basic bread and butter pinball table with no special characteristics so there's smaller room for error.

Either way, this plays beautifully. I wouldn't change a thing (I just prefer the slope 5 myself).

I usually play DT but just tried this on a 2 monitor mini-cab and it's a great table.

What I noticed is the backglass always displays the maximum number of players, not the actual person whose turn it is.

IOW if 3 people are playing, number 3 it lit up no matter whose turn it is. Is there a quick fix for this?

You can import the dB2S backglass into the Backglass Designer.

First click File tab and then click Import DirectB2S Backglass file.

Once you have backglass imported into  designer, click illumination tab then click show illumination frames.

Then you will see the lights that need to be switched. Best way to do this is just switch the rom id numbers between both sets of lights.

The lights on bottom should have rom id numbers changed, starting from left to right.. 50  51  52  53......then the player 1 through 4 lights need rom ids changed to 57 58 59 60. player 1 would be rom id 57, and player 4 would be rom id 60.

So basically you are just swapping these rom id numbers between the 4 on bottom and the 4 next to player scores.

If it still seems too hard for you to figure out how to change,

I added link to backglass with these changes. And I will remove this link, when the original is fixed, or if I am asked to remove it.

Here is link to original backglass i used to convert, made by Hauntfreaks but is only an image upgrade to Piggei's backglass, so Piggei's will have same problem. (I am sending Hauntfreaks message and I am sure he will update as soon as possible.)

http://www.vpforums....&showfile=11926

Here is fixed version until original gets upgraded..

https://www.dropbox....kglass.zip?dl=0

Hope this helps.
