In fact, I really miss the FX2 files, thanks for the reply.
How can I get them?

Thank you very much for your availability, now FX2 works even if the backglass.directb2s files are loaded only if the board is launched by PinballX, FX3 instead loads the backglass.directb2s files even while choosing the table from its menu.
For FX2 I also had to change the parameter PROCESS_TO_ACTIVE_TIME = 1 to 10000 in DofLinx.ini, I hope this doesn't bother FX3.
If I don't pretend too much, I would like to know if for Future Pinball you need files like FX2 or just download the boards compatible with DofLinx.
Is Pinball Arcade 11 compatible with DofLInx? Such as?
Thanks again for the help you are giving me for my new hobby.

For future pinball just download the games that are designed for DofLInx and follow the directions in the guide

Is Pinball Arcade 11 compatible with DofLInx? Such as? --- No

Yes FX3 does more on the fly then have FX2

Try this for FX2 - Just make changes to match your Set up

I get a crash when running pinball fx3 after running DOFlinx.   I have always has this issue but I was usually able to start fx3 after a few tries without the crash.  Pinball fx3 runs, but no doflinx or backglasses.  Any ideas

PS I do get a virus warning from windowsDefender about Pinballfx3 not allowed to change a file, so I added folder exception pinballfx directory and stopped the warning, but still get the crash.

If I disable windows defender it all runs fine.   I have added visual pinball dir to exceptions also.

I have also added doflinx.exe to allow controlled folder access, but still get crash.

anyone else have trouble with defender and fx3 and doflinx?

thanks

@Slydog43, if Windows Defender is getting upset at FX3 in your setup then no DOFLinx settings are likely to stop that.  While I've never had crashes as you describe, I did stop Defender checking any of my pinball folders (VP, DirecoutOutput, FP, Steam, etc) even before DOFLinx came along to avoid speed and other interference issues.  I still have it checking other folders where I land downloads (althought they come in via another machine).

I'd suggest tuning those Defender settings.  If you have any specific DOFLinx messages / deaths, I can happily check what resource that might link back to as well.

if I tell defender to not monitor c:\visual pinball, I assume it will ignore any dir under c:\visual pinball.  Is that correct?  Since Doflinx is installed under c:\visual pinball\tables\plugins\??? I thought it was being ignored.  Maybe my bad.  Should i exclude more?  thanks

omg, just added a few more dirs to the exclusion dir rules and everything seems good to go.  Thanks

If I only have SSF at the moment is there any benefit to adding DOFLinx for FX2/FX3 (does it enable SSF for FX2/3 or is PinUp the only way to do that)?

Thank you.

If you want SSF for FX3 you will need DOFLinx, PUPlayer and the modified FX3 configuration files by TerryRed included with the DOFLinx package.  There is no SSF for FX2.

First of all a big thank-you to DDH69 for DFLinx, what a great program!!  :otvclap:

Secondly with a little story, I have DOFLinx linking up properly when using FX3 tables.  My setup is a bit strange with a LEDWiz controlling strobes and undercab lights then 4 solenoids, beacon, knocker using a saintsmart board.  I get the 4 solenoids working properly for flippers and slings as I want, however I never see any action on the strobes, Beacon and probably knocker.  I guess what I'm asking is there strobe and beacon events already programmed?  I know the LEDWiz is working as the undercab works, also if i switch the flipper Input to a strobe light channel, then the light comes on and off with the flipper press.  Not a big deal just wondering if I have everything working as expected

The FX3 configuration files control the effects (toys) based on table triggers.  I provide two sets, one for the standard toy set and the other (thanks to TerryRed) for standard toys and SSF.  The strobe is used in these, but it quite occasional, so you're probably not seeing it.

It is quite easy to setup standard table effects in FX3 to run whatever toy you want.  If this is the way you'd like to go, then startup a support thread to this effect and we'll work through it all.  Start with a description of your toy layout, what toys you'd like to see active and your current DOFLinx.ini file.

Just installed the latest version, but running it from a scheduled task (I always did), the leds are flashing, but receives directly the following warning popup :

in INI file :

# Make the "4" key (key code 34) to pulse controller/output 120
KEY_TO_OUTPUT=34 120

Pop a comma in there, ie KEY_TO_OUTPUT=34,120

Spaces were wwwaaayyyy back (v2.0 it changed) and I moved to comma separators many versions ago but made both work.  In V7 I dropped the support for space separators. Who knew anyone still had them! (sorry)

DDH69 - I just checked some of the sample InI files and it would appear they have a space in there

Ooops!  So Mike isn't alone!  I know I still had spaces in my cabinet file too!

I'll get onto those samples - thanks.
