Cool! Nice to hear that it works with 3.0.. :)

btw: In general: it's possible to install both 32bit and 64bit versions at the same time, without sideeffects or problems..

(e.g. the error message on the screenshot will vanish when you also install the 64bit version)

There is no 64 bit version to install.

There is only setup64.exe and VPinMAME64.dll. Those are the only 2 files with 64 in their filename that came with the VPinMAME 3.0 standalone download.

Setup64.exe installs 64bit PinMAME. That is the 64 bit version.

I also have a 64bit computer but have only ran 32bit PinMAME for many years, as I heard 64bit was abandoned and toxie just said this afew posts back..

"The 64bit version is mainly there for developers like the Unit3D Pinball guys who use them for development.. For the enduser it's not useful or beneficial (at the moment).."

I would steer clear from installing the 64bit PinMAME as it is not needed.

As said above, it's perfectly fine to install both (e.g. run both setup.exe and setup64.exe and press install in both), there is just no benefit for the standard user at the moment to do so for the 64bit variant.

If I understand correctly then PinMAME32.exe is for both setup.exe and setup64.exe?

PinMAME32.exe is basically also useless for the average user.. It's for people who want to test the pure emulation itself (e.g. without the 'playing part' when using Visual Pinball or Unit3D), do rom set checks, etcetcetc..

Has a naming convention for colored roms been decided yet?

Uploaded PinMAME32_v3.11.zip (dat file) with a fix on the Transformers (V1.6). You will find it on the link that I post above too. (xml file) I didn't know what the next PinMAME beta will be after 3.1. :D

Edit: Whoops I forgot to reload it.

Not yet. Not much time for VP/VPM at the moment, so only doing minor stuff and fixes.  :/

As much as I like colored rims I prefer my vpinmame work correct. The sambuild mod is a PIA to keep working. I’ll wait

pinmame32 is also useful to feed to clrmame to audit your roms or you can also do that in pinmame32 itself.

Hi Thalamus, Do you know if I am missing something. I cant seem to play any Data East tables through Pinsound Studio. I can load the tables and see all the files in the studio V0.9 but It gives me the error 'unsupported sound system bstm', then in v0.8 I get compatability and green tick, but info missing errors flash up and silence. Is this a comman problem I have SAM v3.0 vpmame?
Also is there a config.ini file somewhere to change volume? Regards

Problems with 0.9 and DE is something I've seen yes. That is why you need 0.8. I don't use pinsound on a daily basis. But, could it be that they've updated the sound files themselves ?

My collection must be over a year old.

Verified that you've doing it correctly ? Carny wrote a nice guide a while back http://vpinball.com/...dtrack-remixes/
