Where did you get the metal brackets and bolts in the inside corners of the back box, I'm not seeing them listed in any of the metal kits?  Is there a Williams part number?

Also, what's the inside measurements of the special wide back box you got?

Jimmay3 I believe what you are looking for are the Bally/Williams backbox brace and appear are secured with 1/4-20 x 1-1/4" Carriage Bolts and 1/4-20 Coin Door Whiz Flange Locknuts.

Here another pic of the parts on my cab:

The inside dimensions I will have to measure to be sure and post back, but it fits the 32" tv I have without removing the case perfectly. :)

Internal Dimensions:  29.5" wide is the only change from the standard back box.

Finally got around to creating a loading and exit image for the cab. So boba fett is now representing. I created a gallery for them in case others want to use them.

I also posted my System Logo Overlays in the following thread should anyone like to use them.
http://www.vpforums....showtopic=34370

Also updated the first post of this thread yesterday to provide some context to the various components that I am using and what it is doing. Should help out those just getting started with their own build. All in all not much, but trying to give back to such a great community. :)

I have added a software section to my first post which I will continue to expand on as I remember all the amazing programs I am using on my cab.

I also FINALLY resolved my issue with the PinMAME DMD appearing when tables have an LED score backglass.   I had PinballX software set to autoplace the DMD.   THAT was my issue and thanks to someone on this forum who was helping someone else out with their problem who finally led me to find my issue.   I would give credit if I could find the thread again, but just know if you are on this site I likely need to thank you for something, so 'thanks!'

I am also starting to get more focused on all the little tweaks in software/tables to make them look, feel and play like I expect them to.   Like I spent last night optimizing tables to remove any stutter I had.  For me, increasing the values for b2s to skip frames for glass and solenoids solved my issue very nicely.   I likely have some additional tweaks I can do to have silky butter smooth gameplay, but this was a big leap forward for a few tables I had some issues with in VPX.

On the hardware side, I still have some work to do.  I did use 'official' foam tape to finally secure my rails to the cab, not really exciting but it was something I was hesitant to do as it would be a pita to take off again if needed.

That's all for now.  :)

I made new video of my current progress.    It is still uploading as I write this, so will be available soon.

https://youtu.be/kDAtVd3ZEv8

I added RGB LED lighting to the underside and back of the cab.  It is using the undercab complex option of DOF.    It is fun to watch the video as there is a lot to see with the light show,  yet when playing most of the blinking/flashing is not noticed as one is focused on keeping the ball in play.  It actually enhances the immersion of play, which is awesome.

I also used a metal clamp to replace the plastic one for the ball shooter assembly.   I kept having movement of the sleeve. 'No longer' I say.  So it now sits securely without movement.

Finally did some plastic backglass work for finishing touches and other small tweaks here and there,   Still not done, never done, yet that is part of the fun.

Hehe Thanks Nemo. Yeah well I am working to maximize my investment of the pacled output kit! And I still have a plethora of ports available .... DMX controlled external lights anyone?

Sneetch,

What are you using to drive your RGB LED buttons?

As far as I know you can't use the extra outputs on the pacled64 that is hooked up to the Zebs Pacled64 output kit correct?

I am in fact using the pacled output to drive the button lights. I am not using a booster board for them., just plugged directly to the pacled output kit. ports 56-58 for the flipper rgb. But really any ports would work. ;)

Hooray!! I had a breakthrough last night and had to share with you since you would understand. :)

This weekend I attempted to get up and running 10 channels for DOF force feedback. Previously was only using 8 channels. I originally wanted to be able to turn off the effects at night via the 'night mode' switch. Yet, Since I burned out two channels on my virtual output kit running 12v starter solenoids (as flippers) I didn't want to attempt those again on another port on the virtual output board. So for some time I have only been running 6 channels with no flipper feedback.

Move time forward, I moved the cab to the basement. Now I no longer need night mode, so it was the time to get all 10 channels running. I dusted off the optoflipper board I bought originally but chose not use since it was 'always on'.

I added 2 Contactors as the middle center and back center output and then updated DOF config to use the 10 channels (well everything except for the flippers).

The flippers were connected to the optoflipper board along with the two 12v starter solenoids. Unfortunately I created a strange issue where every time I hit left flipper the ball shoots to the left like I tilted the table to the left at 45 degrees. I am not using the Plunger kit for any buttons, only the nudge and shooter. Using Ipac2 for buttons. And couldn't see how they were conflicting with each other. Figured I would try to upgrade plunger kit firmware to see if that helped, but that was not the issue. Turns out I created the issue (surprise) by grounding the flipper buttons to the ipac, not the 12v ground as required when using the optoflipper board.

Once corrected this issue disappeared and all things returned to normal and running beautifully! What an awesome experience playing with a full setup.

My next task is to resolve some connection issues I am having with my undercab led strips. The connectors I bought really are not ideal so think I need to solder wires for a more robust and consistent solution. Maybe this weekend I will attempt that, but in the meantime, I have some incredible tables to play!

Amazing how time flies, just an update to my cab.   I have decided to 'start over' with the tables and front end I am using.   I switched over to pin popper and really pleased with how easy it is to setup and the depth in customization it has.   Gives me lots of potential to personalize my cab.

I have also limited myself (for now) to VPX and Pinball FX3.   I found when I had a plethora of tables from multiple VP releases, people were really hesitant to play and when they did step up, spent more time browsing than playing.  So I am working to keep a VP playlist of no more than 30 tables to choose from, all which have been tested/tweaked to my cab and toys.

Of course, none of this wouldn't be possible without the dedicated and creative members of this and other communities.   I dont think I could ever express enough gratitude for their continued efforts.

It has been a while and made a change I wanted to share.   Still loving the cab and all the fantastic tables created by folks here yet have never been real satisfied with my DMD panel as it was using some 'black' construction paper and looked horrible.   So finally did something about it and designed a new overlay and printed it out on my 3D printer.   I had to print it in 6 parts since my printer can only support 200mmx200mm, yet think it is a MUCH improved look.
