Hi,

no problem. I can upload a quick update.

If You want to make the change Yourself, open the script with the "Script" button on the left hand menu. Then scroll down to line 990 (in version 1.4). This line should read

GameBall.y = MaxY - 1

Change that line to

GameBall.y = MaxY

Save the table. Done.

Regards

Michael

Michael thank you so much!!!  I also made the changes for Ice Cold Kong and Zeke's Peak...the same code is found a few lines up in those tables.  Now the ball runs smooth as butter and stays still!

Thanks again!

Jason

One more HUGE favor...

Does anybody have the PinballX frontend wheel art for Ice Cold Kong?  This is the only component that I am missing to complete my project.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi randr,

this is so true! Even testing my Dungeons&Dragons was awful for me. I am making good progress on the "DoubleTap" feature. Now I want to eliminate the brief up-movement before the intended down-movement kicks in.

The switch option is also done already.

Michael

Michael. ICB was a hit with guests over XMAS. Most played table. Thank you!  :good: Anyway, at that time, I think we were seeing the same brief up and down movement you mentioned.  I've since noticed that if I use VP9.21, that up/down jump behavior is totally gone. I do need to run 9.21 with all AA options unchecked to keep the ball and bar movement smooth. I just added 9.21 as another emulator in PBX. Thought you might be interested in that information.

I'm planning having work colleagues over once I've finished my cab build. ICB is one table that I will require everyone to play before leaving :-)

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Hi Vizzini,

with the 1.5 update I removed the up/down movement of the ball at all. I put it in in the first place to give the ball some momentum after correcting the Y position on the bar. I found out that this is not necessary, so the ball stays now on the bar's Y coordinate.

Regards

Michael

Thanks. You know. Maybe I was misread your post. I thought you were commenting on bar behavior, not ball. With VP9.93, if I bring the bar down on the right, it rises a bit on the left side first. Sometimes it will just rise up on both sides with a down press. Same thing happens on the right too. It does not happen at all for me running on 9.21 with the exact same .vpt file. I checked the settings for the .exes, and both versions have the exact same key preferences set. Very weird. Anyway, no worries.

Just for fun, I recorded video of it on 9.93. Basically, I hit R-up, R-up, R-down, R-down, L-up, L-up, L-down, L-down, then I think I was playing with L-down. See how the bar acts funny?

Update: So, I couldn't let it go. I kept testing and it looks like, at least today, I'm only seeing that weird behavior on 9.93. 9.90, 9.91, and 9.92 seem ok too.

Hi Vizzini,

I do not get any different behaviour between the VP versions. Although Your ball and rod movement seems to be quite choppy. What framerates do You have?

Keeping both flipper buttons pressed should give You a smooth up movement.

Question regarding the interoperability of Ice Cold Beer and Ice Cold Kong.  I notice Ice Cold Kong saves high scores to the same file as Ice Cold Beer.  I looked at the ICK script, and found that the constant highscorefilename was still icecoldbeerhighscore.txt.  I changed it to icecoldkonghighscore.txt, but it didn't solve my problem.  ICK creates a high score file with a zero value, but continues to load and save to the ICB high score file.

Obviously, I'm missing something.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi TC,

Ice Cold Kong is not made by me and I have no access to the table file, unfortunately. Please check all the positions, a save or load command is issued within the Highscore subs.

These are .GetFile, .FileExists, .CreateTextFile

In my table the only place You have to change the filename is the line

Const HighScoreFilename = "IceColdBeerHighscore.txt"

If You cannot correct the Kong-table, just change the file name for Ice Cold Beer.

The table is not compatible with vpx, it works with VP9.

Unfortunately, this does not use VPX.
