OK, check out the UltraDMD with no sound link, it's the most recent.

Right now I'm mainly going through code and adding in the animation.  If I had to guess, I'd say I'm about... 30~40% complete with that?

I definitely want people to check out that table too because I've added in a global lighting effect and I want people to tell me what they think of it.  You'll see a green flash anytime you make an advance mode shot (e.g. shooting for the Dr. or the Theater mode); you'll see a blue flash when you hit the ghost, advancing minion fight; you'll see lightning effects such as when you hit a minion during the battle or randomly during the War Fort mode, among other times.  I don't know if I have all that lighting in yet (just have to go through and un-comment stuff), but there's enough there to get a good feeling for the effect.  Is it too much, is it not enough?

Right now it's just six Flashers who's alphas never go above ~76, but I could definitely/easily make it more or less.

Shoopity, UltraDMD is crashing (I am using the latest one uploaded by UltraPeepi) as soon as the UltraDMD splash screen goes away - any ideas?

Are you sure you have the gifs? If so, are you sure you put the gifs in a folder inside where the table is?  The structure would be something like:

C:\program files\visual pinball\tables\America's Most Haunted.UltraDMD

and of course the location of the table file would be

C:\program files\visual pinball\tables\

You have to have the ".ultradmd" in the folder name.  You should just be able to extract the zip file in the first post into the folder where you're launching the table from.

Or, you could edit the script; look for the LoadUltraDMD routine (I can't remember if that's the actual name of the routine and I don't have it in front of me.) and change the directory to be where it is you have the all the gifs.

*****Edit******

I don't remember if I was having crashing issues or not, but you'll want the Preview build of XDMD.  The link is on the XDMD Downloads page, or if direct linking is allowed, you can just click this.  And, make sure you have the January 29th version of UltraDMD.  Like I said, I don't remember if I was having crashing issues, but there were issues with having no animation in that Peepi fixed.  However I do know that UDMD will crash if it tries to load a gif that doesn't exist.

Ah man thanks it was an easy fix, I had made the stupid mistake of naming the folder the same as the table, out of habit.... thanks! Now I can play around!

Apparently I uploaded an incomplete Gif pack.  Please delete the "America's Most Haunted.UltraDMD", re-download the gif pack (same link in the first post), and re-extract the folder.

If UltraDMD ever crashes for no apparent reason, please let me know.  Currently it crashes when it tries to load a file that it can't find.

I added a link to a youtube video of the War Fort mode and a minion fight.  It's in the first post.

Is there a way to embed the video into the post?  Chepas does it all the time.

Video looks great! Looks like a fun table too!

Just paste the link and it magically appears embedded: (so do not use "link")

Just saw this and was curious if any more progress has been made.

A friend of mine has the real game so if I can help out with resources let me know.  From the video it looks like you've got it working pretty good.  The real version play a bit faster but that is always personal preferences and easy enough to change up ones likings.

The "hiccup" (i.e. laziness) I've run into with this table mainly is the ramps and an exceptional lack of reference material.  I mean, I've ALL of the source material Mr. Heck used to create the table, but I got lucky with the staircases/balcony because the files I have for that are for when he was prototyping them with laser cut wood.  The habitrails are not made with a CNC machine, or laser cut, so I didn't get any files with it.  I'm just not good at creating stuff from scratch; I'm decent at making good things slightly better, or just different.

What I need is pointers, opinions, suggestions.  You say it plays faster, should I just increase the slope on the table?  Any other suggestions?  Any discrepancies from the real table (not including the DMD)?  I'm not sure if I have an apron graphic; I'll see if I can find the card and some graphic for the ghost just to get something for an apron.  I'll move the trough system up to above the wall.  I need a list/pictures of where all the "decorative" things like posts are.

I had apron graphics here https://app.box.com/...qkxi2zxfdiu4g09

does UltraDMD work in VP10? It would be great to build this up there, you'd get much better lighting effects and it would really do justice to the table

do you have high res plastics?

Since we have the game's source code, I wonder if it would be easier to compile that into a com object to import rather than using vbscript to recreate.

The slope looks to be fine, I would probably increase the gravity as it looks like there is no ball weight. It's something I notice on a lot of tables.

Glad to hear this is still in the works, I'm very excited to play it on my cab.

I'll go through those again Frenetic.

I wouldn't say hi res plastics as I would say the original graphics used to make the plastics.

I don't have a cabinet to do any testing on, but I don't see any reason you can't just plug in some standard Backdrop settings for cabinets and just move the UltraDMD to the second monitor where it should remember the position (maybe... I don't know if that or XDMD was designed with multiple monitors in mind or not).  I don't have any DOF code in though.

Over the next few weeks I'll work on getting just the relevant graphics and as much code as I can on to my Google Drive and share with everyone.  I am sorely ill equipped both mentally as well as ability to do such a thing as making a COM object.
