Hi frenetic,

You did an awesome job recreating this playfield from scratch! Maybe You should just leave the 4-sided-primitives as they are and scale/adjust the images to the needed proportions instead.

Regards

Michael

Ummm well I started scripting it today to...take a break from WWF for a little bit... and that was a mistake. There's some really bizarre ideas in the way switches and solenoids are done. I can figure out the switches thanks to the handy manual en espanol, but it doesn't have a solenoid layout and I haven't figure out how to get into the solenoid check, I figured out a few based on some of the work destruk did with Jolly Park but much of it is still hazy to me.

The lights also are a little confusing, there's a matrix but some of the words are repeated. I did what I could but it's gonna take a bit more knowledge of the gameplay to know when the lights should be on. It also seems that the flippers have pretty extreme end angles, which makes for some interesting shots

Is there a vp8 version of the table fren?
I would try and get the info from that.
If the vp8 version uses vpmmaplights, just select the lights on the table and the interval on the light will have the light number

"it will all be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end"

There is not

There is for Jolly Park and Mach 2 which are from the same system, Jolly Park is most similar but solenoids beyond the standard ones like trough, plunger etc are out of order. Just been trial and error right now and using google translate to translate the rom menu. Tedious work! Based on the manual I believe I have the lights in order, and based on a few videos it looks correct. The problem is you expect certain lights to blink at certain times and it just feels like it doesn't. I'm starting to figure out that it was just made that way. For example, the VERNES WORLD lights in the center of the playfield in attract mode, you'd expect them to light in some kind of discernible pattern but...they don't... they just kind of light up based on some unknown logic. That's how the videos are too, from what I can tell, so for now I just assume it's all correct until I can actually play it lol

Judging by the script in Jolly Park it looks like that's the same thing destruk did, try something until you find it (as he has written confirmed next to the solenoid callbacks)

The Mach 2 table appears to have been done by a spaniard because some of that scripting is in spanish...

Arngrim, I'll work on it more tonight and if I don't have all the solenoids figured out I'll let you know

I decided to build Jolly Park alongside this one, as well since they're similarly built machines, so I've started my Jolly Park redraw tonight. I did the logo first and created the wheel image to get that out of the way.

Once again, great photos provided by akiles with a lot of disassembled playfield photos, so this should be easier than VW was to redraw. I even have Plastics scans!

Here's the machine, it has a magnetic second level playfield (you press the flipper buttons to control a left and right magnet, to direct the ball between the 3 wire guides and over the really strange drop targets and into holes), a spinning third level playfield, and a top drop through playfield. Pretty intense. Another cool feature that I am really excited to emulate is the bumper cars on the pop bumpers. When you hit the pops, the bumper cars rock back and forth like they've collided. It's very cool!

I'm also interested in recreating Mach 2.0 Two (Mach 2? Mach 2.0? No one really knows) if I can get more resources.

Wow, Jolly Park looks really complex. That "Magnetic House" in the upper left looks like a really complicated version of Judge Dredd's Dead World. Really looking forward to seeing you bring this one together!

I thought the same thing, but I don't think it will be too hard, really! It sounded so daunting but after reading about it, it's something I've never scripted before but have no doubt that I can do! This and the pop bumpers are gonna be cool as hell. The upper playfield is a lot of levels, so the ball starts on the top level and goes around the gate to the clowns open mouth, then the ball falls through to the next playfield. That playfield spins around clockwise, and the ball drops down spinning counter-clockwise. There are 4 holes (I think) in this playfield that the ball can fall through. From there it drops down to a lower playfield that has the 2 magnets, and they're side by side right above the 3 rollover targets (if you look at pictures of the machine, there's a little red piece of rectangular plastic there, the magnets are right under that) so it's just a matter of setting up magnets to the flipper buttons there. The spinning PF will be interesting, and I wonder how the ball will react to a ton of drop walls under it...... ah that's a problem for another day :)

It's quite a complexly simple machine if you break each piece down individually. That's not to say it probably won't take me 2 months to script like usual but...that's my own problem lol

Well, I can't quite wrap my mind around it but I'm sure you will beat it into submission.   It really looks like a fun table, lots going on.

BTW, you said Janette Lee was annoying on Sharkey's, but you never said anything about Macho Man on WWF!  "Yeah, Yeah, Oh Yeah!" OMG! ;)

I am most looking forward to the bumper cars!!!  I can already see myself purposely aiming at the pop bumpers just to see those bumper cars animate.  Don't know why but I really like fair-themed pins like this one, cyclone, roller coaster tycoon, etc.  they just work for me.

You know, I never thought I was a fan of the theme but now that you mention it I rather enjoy RCT and think I could do a lovely update for that table. I like ramps at least :)
