I have a love-hate relationship with this table. Multiballs are freakin useless with the power screwing you over every time. The first ball is basicly lost before the third ball hits the playfield. If a multiball lasts more than 10 seconds then its quite an accomplishement, not even mentioning hitting triple jackpots. Sure it feels great to do so. But working all the way to start a multiball and then getting 5-10 seconds of actual multiball out of it feels a bit strange. "The power" moves balls from the inlane to the outlane and also basicly from your flipper arm to the middle (well at least VERY close to it), I wonder if its that way on the real table. I am also nudging all the time to keep the ball in game, got to fight for the ball to stay in so often its not even funny. Don't even want to imagine how it is to play with a much less consistent nudge than the one in the current version.

I love starting SHOWTIME however, nice light show and sounds great too, same goes for hitting jackpots. I like the Skillshots, hitting the toxic wastes with the small outer left flipper and the "bear ramp" and the extra ball one. I can control that well enough.

So, had to write a little about that after a longer session and still not getting more than 406 million yet, which I basicly got in one of my first 3 tries. :(
Goal of 1 Billion still stands, but I have to train harder I guess.

How are you guys doing?
Share the pain :)

I'm not gonna make these games easy!!!! Haha ;-)
I will agree, that "power"magnet has screwed me over several times.
Have you guys achieved any 3 or 4 way combos?
The shots from the flippers are pretty spot on.
Getting a 4-way combo is my favorite thing to do in this game. Always has been.

You do? Those are real-life mods for the gold version.
If you are familiar with the VP editor, you can just uncheck the image object to show it visible.

Press the "end" key or "home" key on your keyboard.
It's one of those 2 keys that opens / closes it.
Away from my cab atm.

Sorry, yes I know how to access the coin door but why does it automatically act like I pushed the button when the game starts? That is the first thing that the DMD displays and untill you insert coin it will not display anything else.

To close the coin door, add this code in TAF_Init() , in line 193 is fine.

Controller.Switch(22) = 1

Good job guys

Thanks

Max

Hi Guys,

the ball on the field is very restless and can be played only with difficulty. The ball jumps sharply back and forth. It seems that a magnet always in the vicinity of the ball. I've tried different settings, but the ball could not provide nearly calm. When firing pin, the ball shakes left and right and can rarely be taken by the bolts. Maybe someone can give me a hint, how I can put the ball calmly. Thanks for help an for the hard work on VP.

Yeah they are poor. The original game was like that too. I remember playing it heaps back in the early 90's and they always sounded like they had a really bad sample rate compared to some of the other Williams pins of the time.

Lots of static and white noise following certain parts of the samples.

A small bug in the script:

You used the wrong table name for the controller.exit sub. Should be "TAF" and not "Table1". Otherwise the db2s could crash when exit.

If the end user has a current version of the scripts and vmpInit me is called in the _Init section, then the exit sub will be generated automatically anyway because of the wrong naming... It will generate a _Paused, _Unpaused, and _Exit sub automatically for you if they don't already exist in the table script, and therefore, since there is no TAF_Exit sub, it gets created with the appropriate commands :D

But the dB2S crashes when I do not correct Table1 to TAF. No idea why...
