I can confirm the problem with the left ramp. It is quite common.

Another less frequent problem concerns the left hole. It has happened to me a number of times, always during a multiball:

The ball on the left is stuck - not quite in the hole, but somewhat to the right of it? If another ball enters the hole, the hole will kick it upwards but it will just hit the stuck ball and fall back. This is an infinite loop I think, as it does not seem that any amount of bumping will dislodge the stuck ball.

Overall I think the table is much better to play than when I first tried it.

I've actually had this happen to me on 2 different LotR tables IRL. Could it possibly be a problem with the ROM programming?... huh.gif

Now I managed to look in the right place just as the ball got stuck. It seems the problem sometimes arises when another ball rolls into the hole at the exact same moment the previous ball is launched out of it. Not always though.

Here you can see how it looks like the two balls are sort of partially stacked on the hole:

I'll take a look at it since I'm preparing the update. But I guess it was a problem with VP9.02 putting the balls on top of each other. I guess VP9.03 is better now, but I'll test it and see if I can fix it.

Thanks, I'll be looking forward to the update.

All the playing I have done on this table has been on v903 though.

I have updated the table and I have fixed the left ramp, the left vuk and the frenzy light colors. The latest version is 2.1

Thanks a lot for the update. I have played the new version for some time now and haven't been able to find any gameplay problems.

Just installed the v2.01 update, and now the sound isn't working properly ...I can only hear bits & pieces of the music.

The sound worked fine on all previous versions of this table, and since no one else has mentioned anything like this I'm assuming I must have placed the LOTR_VP9_2.1_Samples.vpt file in the wrong location. I tried putting it in VP's TABLES folder & VPinMame's SAMPLES folder ...where exactly does it belong?

thx

In the ZIP file there are two versions of the table, one that uses the ROM and one that uses samples.
If your computer is not powerful enough the you use the one named "samples", this table will use the samples just like the older tables.
If your computer is powerful enough then you may use the smaller file which does not contain the samples and it uses the sounds from the ROM.

OK, understand it now; thanks JP ...I removed the 'samples' version of the table, but that didn't fix the problem.

With v2.01, when I launch the table the music now sounds 'similar to' the normal LOTR theme, but it seems to 'repeat' (like an echo, or as if its 'stuttering'). If necessary, I can make & post a sample clip of what I'm hearing.

All previous LOTR versions worked/played correctly, and since no one else has reported any sound problems I'm pretty sure that either I 'missed' a file or put something in the wrong folder. I'd be grateful for any ideas or insight you can provide.

If you removed the samples version, you removed the wrong one.

Yeah, just run the "samples" version and delete the other one (won't be needed). Your computer is struggling to emulate the sound, thus why you're hearing echo's, etc.

I forgot to mention that the zip file includes just one table. This table uses the samples which I have enhanced, so it sounds better than using the sounds from the roms smile.gif So I guess there is no need for a version which uses the rom sounds.
