They've just added support for a bunch more platforms including PS3 and Linux. I'm thinking they've realized they won't make it at the current rate so hey whatever will help get more interest I'm all for it. For those who have credit cards but are afraid ti use it online please read this article that was written after the big Sony PS Breach Scandal and see if your card supports the creation of a one time single use account to protect your CC online.

Wow, I really expected when they added support for Linux they would see a big boost but they are almost at the halfway point and haven't even reached $100,000 yet so short of a miracle it just isn't going to happen.

I think the Linux crowd are all about computers, maybe video games.
There has been very little pinball for that platform while the Emilia Project which would have brought open source pinball to Linux only floundered.

Maybe just offer the release flyer suitable for framing for a $10 pledge?

I noticed they are upto $74,000 now - a long way off the target but they are working hard to encourage new pledgers and to get existing pledges to increase their amt. They have also just released an iOS lighting demo in the app store so will be interesting to hear from any Ipad 2/3 owners as to what it is like.

I know this was mentioned before, but here is what they promised for cabinets for anyone who is thinking of pledging.....

Yes, we will be building our own Pro Pinball cabinet so there will be a special viewing angle designed for cabinet displays! We'll also support two and three monitor set ups and other cabinet features in due course.

I have the lighting demo on PC and iPad 2, on both the table is looking mindblowingly real. Ofcourse there is no real life table action to see yet but the static snapshot looks almost photorealistic, shiny metal rails, reflections on the table and balls, 3D depth, (transparant) plastics, screws, rubbers. In the iOS version you can tap the screen to play with the left/right or both flashers. Impressively and convincingly 3D: If you tap the left flasher, the light ricochets off the underside of the rails that curve around the flasher and that gets projected on the table as a line of light between two bands of shadows that in turn correspond with the two sides of the rails. The two sliders give control over respectively the total (external) lighting and some specific bulbs within the table. Playing with them, you can create vastly different lighting patterns, in which it's also possible to make a VP-like "night mod" that is really ambient. I just hope that the iPad can handle the physics engine, because the lighting/reflection simulation alone would seem complex enough to fry my tablet, and then we're not even talking physics and GI! Anyway, I still would like to hope they meet their goal, I put in my 100 bucks but the trend is going southwards of even 50% funding now. They will need a miracle to get to 400K in time. Let's hope that there is a crazy, pinloving millionaire out there who'll back this project!

If it's okay with Noah, maybe if everyone who is interested would provide a witty line and the Kickstarter Pro Pinball URL link to their Signature in order to shamelessly spam the project, and do it all over the web, it might help.

Too little too late, mate. Most people who would pledge a decent sum have already done so, and everybody else is probably only going to be a drop in the empty bucket. The project is simply shooting too high too early. A smaller one for just Timeshock to gauge the reaction might have seen success, but instead I fear that they're simply going to give up after seeing this fail fairly spectacularly.

I'm in for $100. I know it doesn't look like it will happen but agree that, with the Kickstarter concept, you might as well try as you have nothing to loose if it falls short.

I agree it is looking like it won't make it, however we are half way through now and if they could at least raise the same amount again, that would at least show Silverball Studios that there is considerable interest in what they are doing and they may decide to still release a revamped Timeshock at their own expense. I would imagine they have put in a fair amount of effort already to just throw it away, and considering Adrian is a Pinball fanatic that might help

I still reckon there are many more people in the world bought Pro Pinball years ago, who would support the project if the word got out to them. Unfortunately 30 days is a short time to get the message to these kind of people.....ie: the ones who don't read about pinball on the web on a daily basis like us lot

But on the other hand, Pro Pinball was good on a normal PC monitor in the past. Now with my own VPin-cabinet I think the difference to one of JPsalas tables will be minor. The missing 3D effects will be even more obvious with high res graphics. I wish them luck, but think too, that they will not reach their goal. For this the total amount is too high and the price for a mere 5 tables is way too high.
I stick with Visual Pinball and HyperPin.

These tables are gonna look much better than any VP tables. Just the antialiasing alone will be awesome, & ball reflections, & 3D models, & so on....

$400,000 is a business plan figure; it's not an extravagent amount of money when it has to fund an complete team, their development costs and their salaries, for five products over an entire year.

...look at their DIY...it's just AMAZING...I have never seen a PC pinball simulator with so realistic graphics...we talk about a really serious project and a whole team!

It is a shame but I think they set their sights too high. I think if they would have just gone with remastering the old tables, they could drop their goal by at least half and would have received the same amount of contributions. Having a new table is great but I think they overestimated the amount of additional pledges that would occur because of that. Either way, I pledged 100 and would even consider 250 if there is a push towards the end or some extra incentive.

That new preview is just woah...

Imagine an editor using this rendering engine which had rom support??? If the PP reboot was a resounding success this could be a possibility for the future as Ade has already mentioned.

As Rob said, if you wanted PC emulated pinball to have a future and you can afford it, put your hand in your pocket and make this amazing project happen.
