FD and blade,

does the BG show up if you double click the form itself without starting the table,

do you have the DotNetFramework installed. B2S requires it to work.

Thanks Rosve .. I don't seem to get it to work .. The Table shows up correctly, the DMD (3rd screen) as well but the Backglass (2nd screen) stays black.
For other B2S Tables it varies .. most of the times the score-reels show up (working) but the BG Image itself stays black.
I use the same name for the .exe & .vpt, changed the script to 'false'. b2s + ScreenRes + Table + .exe are all in the Table directory.

Any suggestions?
What's this with the B2S FPLaunch version?

Heya, FD. Did you set the right display in the screenres.txt file? Maybe it's not set to the right display? The DMD is just VPinMAME controlled, so it should show up as usual, unless it's under something.

The B2S version of FPLaunch just means a recent version. It's be in there for a while now, so you're probably fine there.

Thanks Darkfall .. it should be the correct screen pointing towards '2'. PF and DMD are showing up correctly and Table is playable as normal.
Only the BG stays black .. looks like bladexdsl has the same issue.

Thanks for enlightning the 'B2S FPLaunch version' question I had earlier.

Cheers,
FD.

Strange. It works great for me on the dual screens. Maybe there's a hiccup in the 3 screen version.

It threw errors for me when I didn't have the .Net Framework 4 installed, but the error message was hidden under the VP playfield.

FD: Maybe cycle through the windows with ALT+TAB and see if any error messages are showing up (which are often near impossible to read, since the ALT+TAB window pops up right over them), and if you even see the B2S backglass executable running. Maybe it's just hiding under something.

Dedrok_V: Yes, it used to work for me .. not any more sad.gif .. DotNetFramework installed, I'll try the 'double clicking' later. Thanks!
Darkfall: Yes, could well be a 3-screen hickup. No error messages (hidden), Table starts and is playable + DMD appears on 3rd screen as normal.

Rosve pointed me on to clean my ScreenRes file which I did & will try in a minute. smile.gif

Is there anyone that got it going in a 3-screen setup?

Cheers,
FD.

I have a 3 screen setup and it works fine. I'll share any particulars of my setup, just ask.

I do have a concern when used with Hyperpin, the backglass never goes away when I exit the table!

Did you set the LaunchBackGlass to False in the script. This should be done when launching the Table from HP.

'***********************************************************
'On Error Resume Next
LaunchBackGlass "ScaredStiff_FS_B2S",False 'True=Launch bg , False=Don't launch bg.

'************************************************************

OR, Press Esc key again to kill the backglass.

I just set that line to false in the table script and all I got was the static backglass. I am using a modified FPlaunch.exe for my cab. Is there a certain version I should be using?

Thanks!

You need one of the latest FPLaunch versions. I'm using my own modified FPLaunch. I don't know where to find the official FPLaunch. Probably over at the HyperSpin Forum. I guess someone else here knows better than me.

If there are no error messages than the bg is started and should show up on the screen. Make sure that there is no emply line at the top of the file, that can offset the bg outside the visible area, In your case it should look like this,
CODE
1920
1080
1024
768
2
0

I'm using 3 screen setup with Hyperpin for this table without any issues. Some things you could possibly check:

1) I'm using Windows XP so don't know about Windows 7
2) If you're using Hyperpin make sure you're using one of the later FPLaunches (it's one of the first posts on the Hyperspin forums and stickied so easy to find)
3) You should download the latest Full table and B2S from VPForums (I originally just downloaded the 3-screen exe that Rosve posted and buggered around for ages updating my scared stiff table until I realised all the table code changes had already been done for me ;-)
4) Make sure you have the Scared Stiff table and b2.vbs and 3 screen version of exe file in the same Tables folder
5) Make sure the Scared Stiff Tablename and the B2S exe file are the same name and doesn't contain any spaces (ie rename your table to ScaredStiff_FS_B2S if you changed it originally
6) In the table itself, set the following line as follows:
LaunchBackGlass "ScaredStiff_FS_B2S",False 'True=Launch bg , False=Don't launch bg.
7) No. 6 is really important if you use the newer FPLaunch script and have changed your escape button from ESC to 'e' - if you don't do this when you exit out of the game, the animated backglass will stay onscreen when you return to the Hyperpin menu.
8) I'm using the 275.33 Geforce drivers with a GTX560TI for playfield and backglass and a GTX260 for DMD.
9) My backglass and Playfield are both at 1920x1080 - don't know if that makes any difference or not...

Hope that helps,
Thanks,
Mick

Just out of curiosity - what happens if you delete screenres.txt and double click the .exe? It should give you an error saying screenres.txt not found but allow you to continue - just wondering whether you get an image on one of the 3 screens somewhere. You could also try changing your screenres.txt to point to a different monitor (try 1, then 2, then 3) and see if it appears on any of your screens when you double-click. At least that should confirm that .net 4 is installed correctly.

I am still using the orginal FPlaunch that came with the download.
I wondered why I always had to press Esc twice. Thought it was just a glitch.
Oh well, it works till I decide to upgrade my FP launch.
I keep taking the "if it aint broke" approach to my FP launch.
Scared that if I update it things will surely go haywire.

Thanks for the link. smile.gif
If I were to download one of the updated FPlaunches that use the "e" key as an escape, would I have to re-program my i-pac for that or would my "esc" key continue to work?

I don't like to moan but things get worse .. I lost my DMD completely on my 3rd screen now! sad.gif It's not 'behind' any screen, it's simply gone!
Only thing I did is change the values in my ScreenRes file.

Any suggestions anybody?

What screen number does your backglass screen have when you look in the Windows 'identify' mode ?
Is that number the same as in your screenres.txt ? If not, there could be your culprit.
There is something fishy going on for sure.

I wonder if it is the hideDesktop parameter in the FPLaunch script that is causing this?
Try with the hideDesktop = false
CODE
hideDesktop     = true         ;Attempts to hide desktop with black screen, might help
;on some emu's for hiding launching windows.
