any one with the vishay boards (think that's all of yall lol?) can leave the pinDMD and cable plugged IN all the time its just the pinled which can damage the pinDMD if left un powered. but the vishay is fine. there is no need to disconnect the pinDMD every time!!!!

That's great news as I just ordered a Vishay.

Orange Vishay

I saw red Vishay for 159 euros and thought that is a great price, but after reading through this thread I thought I would go for the orange although a bit pricey at 233 euros. Then I got to the checkout and tax was added making it 275 euros!.... damn.... but it was too late to go back now . The wife is going to go absolutely mental (if she finds out )

iv also decided to go with a different make of mini b usb connector for this second batch of 100 im gonna dump my current usb connectors and go for a more expensive molex one, im a bit scared that the current ones can be easily knocked and have the usb legs lift off the pcb. so will order another 100 better quality ones for this new batch

have ordered 125 of these (look much nicer)

another my dmd doesnt work post. I am going to retrace my steps.

here is what i did. I installed the drivers and installed the vpinmame.dll and ran it. it is running off of computer psu pulling 5.04v

not sure if i missed anything but,

here is what i've come up with so far. the pindmd logo shows fine no missing lines but, when ilaunch vp and run it here is what i get


hacker seems to think it is a bad usb i have tried 2. any suggestions?

thats not a bad usb thats a fault with the 8bit bus from the ftdi chip to the arm chip, most likey caused by a wrongly set jumper!

is the little jumper correctly installed? it should be in the position closed to the usb connector.



just checked mine definitely either missing the little jumper or have it in the wrong position!
(the jumper connects the 5bit, which is where your missing lines are)

im positive i sent all the boards out with the little yellow jumper installed / in the correct position :/ hehe

I think it should just be named dmdlogo.txt I renamed it because it was in the same folder as mine. I did not test it as my cab is still in pieces while I paint.

Why do you want it to come up on that one? The score is on the backglass. You shouldn't want it on the DMD...just sayin.

was the jumper it must have fallen off. thanks russ dmd working fine now to get b2s working properly. scared stiff isnt working for me. Also need to disable ddraw

i new it had to be that the second i saw the missing lines every 5th bit

that jumper is very important


im gonna install all this hyperpin / b2s tables this weekend and see why some tables have issues with the .dll

Honestly Russ, i"d just use them until you run out. I had no issues with it, it's not like people will be constantly unhooking and hooking them up. I'd be interested to see how many VP cabinets are out there now. I think this board will push some people over the edge of indecision.


Also - an update on games with issues: Super Mario Bros. and Tee'd Off DMD's do not work - they come on, but just on full and do nothing after that. These are both DMD games.
