I built Stern's Dracula two years ago from a scanned playfield. Readily available but not on this site.

people most of the tables that you are menitoning already have a vpx version!, i have them in my pincab, you just have to search on other sites!, the only one im missing is apollo 13, dont ask me where are those tables but if you love this hobbie you already know....

How about all of Losermans Gottlieb's from 1963 to 1978?  I did not feel like counting but it's close to 75 tables maybe more  https://vpinball.com...der/loserman76/

I believe it is closer to 90 if you distinguish between 2 and 4 player versions. What a VP hero !

It is a sentimental favorite - I bought this machine as a 15 year old in Germany in 1975 (damn, I am old!).  Bought it sight unseen - just got the cheapest table the local distributor had.  Paid 300 DM (for any old Germans on here).  It provided many hours of entertainment and instantly gave me some cool factor with my friends! 

 

I have not seen this table as a VP table - always hoping that one of you amazing creators will come across this one!

Just looked at a video of that, man that's a lot of custom work, for the space station and such, that's probably why it hasn't been tackled. Also for everybody who wants a re-creation, it very heavily depends on good source material, preferably a complete tear-down, scan / picture documentation, decal sheets, etc... for someone to then try and re-build it, not to mention roms, and know how how the original operated.

I don't want to be a Debby Downer, I'm just sharing what goes into a decent VPX re-creation. To build anything in 3D you have to have good concept art, or good picture reference. So if you want a specific table re-done in VPX, because you're getting rid of it, or want to trade it in, do yourself a favor, do as much photo reference of the original, make notes, how long ramps, and temporary pathways are blocked/open,  What the conditions for multi-ball are, nothing is too small to miss. Even things like which bulbs are on, for General Illumination. If it's to be an accurate re-creation it needs accurate documentation, and the manuals don't give out timings of events typically or which specific bulbs are for GI, since you'll see they're burnt  out and replace them hopefully.

 

I personally pick my projects based on 3 criteria,

 

1. Did I enjoy the table when I was a teen ?
2. Does one exist for VPX
3. Has it been done in VP9

3 is kind of a soft one, but makes the conversion a lot quicker, to get to something playable, where you can judge if the effort to do all the art is worth it.

Wow, Kees, that would be absolutely awesome!

 

I looked at Triple Action and I see the similarities - especially the spinner thing.  If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know (not sure what I can do beyond googling up pictures...)

For Aces & Kings I am looking for a proper playfield image, but in the meantime I am virtually cleaning a playfield
