Where do I find the table scripts that need to be modified?  Are these generated after playing a table, or after setting up a front-end (waiting to do that until each indivicual table/backglass/DMD working).

What is it that you are trying to do?

 

the table's script is in the table itself

no script is generated from playing a table

 

But unless you say exactly what you are trying to do, im not sure what you are looking for

I had seen some posts talking about modifying the table scripts... but apparently I misunderstood.

 

A more pressing question.  I am setting up a 3-monitor system and can reliably get the main monitor to show the playfield, and the desired "2nd" monitor (although the 3rd monitor according to Windows, but not how I place them in the monitor order playfield-b2s-DMD), but the DMD (using ultraDMD) sometimes shows up on the correct monitor, but frequently shows up in the top left area of the main playfield.  Depending on the table, this happens.  The Stern spiderman does this routinely.  I was able to drag and drop the DMD display to the correct screen but it is very tiny.  Other tables apear to work perfectly.

 

What do I need to adjust, and what am I doing wrong?

Well stern spiderman does not use ultraDMD

It is a stern ROM and so provides its own DMD

Now i recommend the following

1) Get Freezy's latest Official DMD extensions

dmdext-v1.8.2-x64.zip

dmdext-v1.8.2-x86.zip

 

Unzip both of this into the VPinMAME folder

allow them to replace files if needed

You probably will not need the 64bit, as VPX does not use it, but it is little, just take it
if something turns up that you need it for, then it is there

 

Ok step 1 finished

 

2) Forget about ultraDMD, it is old, it has kind of been abandoned and i see no updates to it in the near to distant future

Get FlexDMD instead, it will fully replace UltraDMD as well ad of course run FLexDMD

FlexDMD.zip

Unzip to vpinmame folder, then run FlexDMDUI.exe
Click 2 register buttons
Done

 

3) Run stern spiderman

Hit F1, set ROM to use external DLL
set rom NOT to show vpm DMD (right above use external)

click OK

quit and relaunch table

Drag the new DMD window to the appropriate screen
Size as needed by grabbing handle at bottom right corner

when done, right click and pick save, and in your case with dedicated 3rd screen, you might click save globally instead of save for tablename

 

Now you are done, for now
