I've been editing a couple of tables with the latest revs and the new features for the editor - assigning objects to layers, right clicking to select objects underneath the top most object and the object ordering window - are the biggest improvements to the editor in ages! It makes table editing *so* much easier! Thanks for adding those features!

Colors on primitives don't work in 9.1.6. I've tried 639 and 640. Primitives always show up in white, or black/very dark tint if "enable lighting" is checked. Colors show up fine in 9.1.5. Is there a mandatory lighting object I need to add now?

I'm trying to avoid getting into Blender on my first table, so I'm sticking to the editor/script options for now.

Hey guys,

some eye candy for the weekend :D Checkout rev642!

With this revision you can activate ball reflections on the playfield. This option can be enabled for each table where you define the ball textures. The second settings is the reflection strength. I used value 50 which looks nice on a lot of tables but you want to change it depending on the playfield (e.g. 70 on the latest Indiana Jones table).

The ball will only mirror on the playfield nowhere else.

Nice stuff! At some point i also experimented with rendering the full table mirrored upfront to get some reflections of everything on the playfield, but somehow it always looked stupid (too many hacks on the average table)..

Yes I also thought about that. But without a shader it's really a pain in the a**. This reflection feature needs some improvement because it can look odd on some tables. It depends on how things were designed but it seems to work quite well on simple tables.

The mirror effect is really neat.

Hope you guys can figure it out with some options involved and adding it to other elements of the table.. :-)

I have no idea why, but it is just a link to my public dropbox where I upload the compiles. This is still an unofficial compile even though some newer tables are utilizing some of the features and require a current build. As with any software, it all comes down to if you trust the source of the files. I can tell you that there is nothing wrong with the file, but if you are the least bit suspicious, then you shouldn't download it... same goes for any file on the web. Another option is to set up your computer to compile the revisions on your own, but most people most likely just download the files I have uploaded.

Bottom line, if you are concerned, don't download it. :) It's only VP, it isn't exactly critical software you have to have for your computer to run or anything :D.

A great addition! Is there a way to make it by default for all tables?

The reflection feature seems not to work for me. I selected in in the table options and set value e.g. to 100. No effect. I habe an nVdia gfx card. Do I have to modifiy the setting in preferences also (e.g. ball decals are disabled in my standard settings)?
