Wow, thanks for the amazing table melon. My favorite of all-time! As such, it's probably one of the few I actually played enough real pin to be able to critique. This table is very well represented here. A lot of fun to play! I have only noticed 1 bug. I also have 2 very small issues with gameplay in general.
The bug:
Was mentioned earlier in the thread. If you don't pull the plunger back far enough, the ball can fall through top of the wire ramp before the plastic skill shot area. Too weak on the pullback and the ball will simply roll back down like it should. So fortunately this one is very hard to reproduce as it only happens at a very specific spot in the pullback.
1st issue:
The above bug leads me to my first issue. It may actually be solved simply by using a digital plunger. Currently I am just playing these on my home PC with joystick. I have the plunger mapped to a button and the pullback is way too fast for any kind of accuracy. I am used to using those little triangles at the base of the plunger to hit the skillshot almost everytime. I'd love to say that I will own a pincab one day but I just can't see that happening anytime in the near future.
2nd issue:
From memory, the hardest shot on the table should be the cyclone. Not the case here, I can jackpot after jackpot as long as I can light the coaster. Fun, but just not entirely accurate. The hardest shot on this recreation is actually the comet. I remember the comet being relatively easy until you get to the millions. I haven't even seen the 100k yet here. Too bad as it's an integral part of the multiplayer experience as it gives any player the opportunity to catch up or outright win at any time. I even remember the little hop off the right flipper that someone mentioned earlier on several real pins. I can only assume this was done intentionally to throw off your comet shot once momentum kicks in. Maybe it does it's job a little too well in this recreation.
I should note that I've been playing this in VP9.9... my all-in-one install seems to have gone right but VP9.21 is the only exe that constantly requests UAC. Any table I load in it has this mesh look to them. The other 3 versions (haven't played any VP8) load fine so I just stay away from VP921. I assume they include it because some tables need it and won't play right in VP9.9. Is it only for tables marked 921? What about earlier versions like this table (marked 91.x)? It'd be nice to have a better understanding of what version to use. Some table downloads don't even state a version.
IMO, the bug needs to be squashed! The rest of this post is merely my thoughts, no offence to your wonderful creation melon. I really look forward to trying more of your tables. I am still new to VP but maybe one day I will be brave enough to make a backup copy and start tweaking with settings in this beauty.
