I invite everyone to create a table, just so they know how frustrating it can be at times. This table was a HUGE pain in my ass, and to hear this kind of whining really kills any desire to continue making tables.

Thank you for saying this part Noah. It's a great table and it is very noticeable the effort that you guys spent making it!

Well I just got around to playing a few games on this table. I love it. The lighting in my opinion is spot on. I don't think it is too dark at all. The flipper settings may take all but a couple of minutes to get used to but I think they do seem more realistic like playing a real table.

Kudos to Noah & UR for a fantastic job they did on this table. I really think it's sad to read some of the "Complaints" in this thread. I have never tried to attempt to build a table myself but I do realize and respect the amount of work that goes into building a table. These people build these tables out of the love of the hobby and are not getting paid to do so.

Keep up the great work Guys. I appreciate it, along with so many others in this community.

I agree with those that say that the flippers are more realistic physics wise, but we are not really use to realistic flippers in VP.

I love the table. I love the flipper settings.

Having said that, I can't believe this is the best they can get. For all I know they are, but I hope not, because I find it hard to aim, even with a captured ball. Not whining, just honest feedback.

Thanks for the fantastic table.

Just play it a little more, Shocky.

I can hit anything at any given time after getting used to them. I, too, was guilty of comparing them to the 'normal' VP flippers, and that makes it more difficult to aim.

Once you get used to them, there's no turning back ... at least for me, there isn't.

I'm glad you're diggin' it. I was really looking forward to updating this to A1 status, but I fear it'll have to wait until after I take a break from building tables. I think I need one.

great work Noah and uncle Remus. just out of curiosity, why didn't you use a gi string in this one? I've watched some videos and I know there's not a lot of gi activity, but there is a little.

You can't place lights or dropwalls under transparent decals. That's the main reason I'm going the VPaint route.

Great release! This table has excellent gameplay.

In my opinion:

Strong points (almost 100%!!!): Graphics, viewing angle, overall table physics, gameplay, lights (The cannon lights is A-W-E-S-O-M-E).

Points that I would change: Increase the playing area (playfield), removing or reducing the backdrop DMD, and extending width a little more. Leaving the table in the standard GRONI, JPSalas and Bob tables.

An EXCELLENT Job! Congratulations Noah & UR !!!!! dblthumb.gif clapping.gif dblthumb.gif drinks.gif

We have a different standard.

We LIKE to include backglass and speaker panel. It's part of preserving the history of the table, IMO. I'm glad you like everything about how it plays, but please...

...enough with wanting to change our artistic expression.

I'm getting more than a little irritated that artistic expression is no longer valued, just personal preference seems to be important anymore.

So how would 1 go about adding these flipper settings to any other table?

Surely it would depend on the table and how it was made though wouldnt?. Wouldnt adding these flippers settings to some table just break the table, and make playability worse than the flipper settings that the table was designed with/for?

Ok! Sorry! I don't mean to offend! Yes, you're right, it's just my personal taste of size of the table. Please, don't take this as a criticism. In no way I want to take the artist expresion value. smile.gif This table is really WONDERFUL! Please do not consider my personal opinion! wink.gif

I love your job!

These flippers are primarily designed for modern era machines. Older Bally's would use different flipper settings. In fact, Eala and I have had this discussion at length and he is working on that particular era's settings, as well.

As far as would it break it...

I'd say no. It would only improve play, IMO. As long as the objects are well placed and the slope is mostly accurate, they should work great.

You can transfer them one of two ways...

1. Simply transfer the values over from T2 to the table in question.

2. Delete the flippers from the table in question, but BE SURE TO WRITE DOWN OR REMEMBER THE FLIPPERS' NAMES in the editor. Then select both flippers from T2 and copy/paste them to the table. You will have to place them in the proper location after doing so.

@ billyrjse - Don't sweat it, dude. I'm not offended, and your opinion DOES matter! This is just a topic that has been discussed before, and I'm a little sensitive to it. Every table we do is carefully planned and our 'baby'. You wouldn't want to create your babies in another man's image, now would you? tongue.gif

Thanks for all the compliments!

For those that have addressed particular issues or concerns...

Flippers - The flippers are the absolute best flippers you're going to get in VP. I've played 19 different machines in the last few weeks to study flippers. In my opinion, they are PERFECT for this era. The rubbers behave more like red flipper rubbers (bounciness), but I like the look of black. If you don't believe the ball bounces off the flippers, you haven't played much real pinball in a while. If the flipper transfers are too difficult, try increasing the gravity/slope a little.

Playfield resolution - Send me a high res scan, and I'll be happy to use it.

Lightness/darkness - This is how we make our tables. After playing it again this morning, I think some of you need to adjust your monitors.

Gun - The gun utilizes the exact arc of the real machine. The angle of firing can be adjusted in the script, if you have a problem with it. As of now, you can hit every target and it will miss them if you don't fire.

Viewing angle - If you don't like it, don't play it.

I invite everyone to create a table, just so they know how frustrating it can be at times. This table was a HUGE pain in my ass, and to hear this kind of whining really kills any desire to continue making tables.

First time Poster.

Just wanted to say you have outdone yourselves with this one. What a masterpiece. Dig what you did with the flippers, that was off the hook!

Thank you!

While this is not one of my favorite tables, it looks great!

As far as the artistic impression issue is concerned - I am in favor of the way UR/NF did this table. The art of the backglass is as important as the rest of the machine, as the backglass is what usually first drew your attention to the machine IRL. Besides. it is the author's decision whether or not to do a table with a backglass, or at a particular width/angle/what have you. It is not for us, the users, to influence the author on how to do the table.

Great job guys! Keep doing tables how you want to do them!

This is the first 4:3 table that I have really played since I had VP on my mame cab about 4 years ago. Although it takes a bit of getting used to (both 4:3 and the new flipper style), I really like what you guys have done here. I really like the bounciness of the flippers, that seems more realistic than any other flippers I have used in VP. I will be playing this table in 4:3 to learn the rules, and waiting patiently for the FS version. Thanks guys!

I personally love the flipper settings, seems way more realistic especially the way the ball feels upon first contact with the flippers **PS** love the little animation added to the flippers when the ball hits. The only thing that I noticed is that for some reason the wire ramps in areas seem blurry, weird, nothing major as it's not as if I'm looking at them while playing but upon staring at this beauty I noticed it, again nothing major but weird none the less.

It's due to using reels for the flashers, which will be gone in future updates.

After a few more games I'm absolutely hooked on the flippers now. It adds more excitement to the game. And also, the skill shot is way easier to achieve now, since the ball seems to always hit at the same spot, upon launching it. (another table version didn't always) very good work, research, and testing. Thanks!
