Hello all,

Is there any chance anyone could add the ability to map joystick controls and not just keys? I'm sure I am not the only one with a homemade cabinet which runs mame as well as FP & VP. Problem is I only need Joy2Key for visual pinball which messes up the other program controls.

Thanks

I've reinstalled Tiny7 to clean out my HD and did a final virus scan. I had like 8 viri, mostly trojans and stuff like that.

Tiny7 came with 8 trojans??? That's not very good.

It's open source Jeff - I have no idea how to do that since the joystick isn't 'acquired' until the actual player renders the table. You would need to acquire the joystick as soon as the editor screen was displayed, or at the start of Win Main would be my guess. Since you can remap all the keys in the next version of VP I don't understand how Joy2Key would mess up the other program controls.

Damnit, I screwed up my tenses. What I wanted to say was that I wanted to reinstall Tiny7 to clean out my HD and did a final virus scan BEFORE that. There I found about 8 trojans.

In the VP9 editor click Options on the left, that opens a menu to the right of the editor - there you are.

Don't tell me they took joystick control out of VP. I know the Ultrapin guys didn't do that, because it worked in 8.1. It use to read the buttons and the axis though up and down was one axis, and left and right was one axis, which could probably be fixed by inserting a + and - here or there. It's impossible to guess what guys were thinking when they go to the trouble to half support something as simple as this, or add nifty features for .01% of the users at the cost of the rest loosing staple features. Hopefully the new team will get it all sorted.

I'm having the same problem too. My Norton marks this file as a virus as well. I just downloaded the previous version and Norton does not have problems with it. Is there a way to cure this file like contacting the staff of Norton because I tired the 9.0.7 version and it doesn't caused harm.

Probably safer to burn it in case some poor unwilling soul retrieves it from the bin and installs it. Removing this bloated software will be like getting a new PC - you should see performance gains as well. Use Avast Home Edition - it's free, reliable, and doesn't hog your PCs resources like our friend Norton. Letting Norton look after your PC is like letting McDonald's look after your Cow.

Well, I've finally decided to use VP9 to make my tables, and while working on my latest bagatelle, I was at first befuddled, and then a bit upset that the physics had changed so much. Making bagatelles and flipperless the way I'm used to is now next to impossible, at least without a lot more tweaking than in the past. But finally I realized that lately all I've been doing is adding a new image to a starter table, adding a few different sounds, and editing the script. It had become so automatic that it wasn't very challenging or much fun.

And while at times it's frustrating, it's now fun again, and probably my tables will be better than ever, since I have to customize so many of the settings. Sure, it'll take longer, but I have plenty of time. Ans some of the new features are wonderful, such as making gates invisible, since they don't belong on bagatelle anyway. Preserving names when copying is a treat, and exporting sounds and images has allowed me to reclaim those things from my older table, so I now can use sounds I lost over the years. I'm sure I'll still get frustrated at times, but that's better than being bored. So hats off to the VP Development Team.

So far I don't, but I'll figure out what I need to do to adjust my Nudge Code so it works the way it should. I love trying to solve problems, and getting around the new, lousy nudging is my biggest challenge.
