I think the one to the right looks better in both FS and 4:3.

Agreed. smile.gif

They both look good.

But if I had to choose one I would go w/ the right one for the 4:3 version and the FS version.

BTW UW I understand that the infintie lights might put a strain on some peoples CPU's. So I was wondering if you were going to include them w/ an option to turn them off/on like in the PacDudes version.

If not, then its no big deal because I'm a sure bet that this table will be a blast to play with or without the infinte lights.

Infinite lights would be cool for the 4:3 version for sure.

On the issue of the tube, I wonder if it's not one of those times where using a decal would be better. I know this prevents angle-independance but it's such an integral part of the table. Any thoughts? The one on the right is very nice though, and I'd certainly say "good enough" and the table itself looks great thus far UW, great job as usual.

The main thing that makes playing Xenon so unique is that beautiful sexy voice by Suzanne Ciani.

Welcome to Xenon
Try tube shot
Try me agin

...And the French version:
- "Entrez dans Xenon",
- "Bienvenue à Xenon",
- "Visez le tube",
- "Jouez moi encore".

There are also French ROMs for:
- Black Knight ("Le chevalier noir va te massacrer", ...),
- Blackout ("Alerte rouge", ...),
- Mars ("Attaquez, attaquez", ...),
- ...

Are these ROMs dumped?

Yeah i think the tube on the left FS table looks better, but looking at both ramps, the white band that goes round the tube doesnt look 100% cylindrical, is the tube a perfect circle shape on the real machine?

they way it loo to me in the pics I have, the band appears flat on the bottom, but it could just be distortion from the glass.

loafer- decal is a good idea, but I've had nothing but trouble working
with them, and I'd like to keep it angle independent
if at all possible. I'm gonna try one other way of making it, with a bunch of small ramps and then choose from there.

pacdudes table is mostly reels and decals. I don't like using them in my tables, I prefer they be angle independent

Angle independence is good. But angle dependent tables came about for a reason. A reason that I don't believe has changed. But I would not be surprised if you came up with something better than either of those, and still had angle independence.
Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be typical of your work, which is state of the art.

I just want to say that I don't mind angle dependent tables that are so for a reason.

Unbelievable, how much VP is still advancing with the new authors with basically the same tools.

I look at most newer tables put out for VP9, and I'd swear on first look, they're all using decals; VP has come a long way, angle independant tables now look just fantastic. Although I feel it might be a good fit, it brings its own headaches too. The screenshots above make me salivate Scott, they look fantastic and I apologize if I might have given a negative impression, wasn't my intent friend.

This is with a decal. Man is it going to be a pain to do it this way, and i may have to sacrifice working gi lights. I just have to see How it turns out. I don't know if i'll be able to use this for the 4:3 version cause of all the lights and dropping walls behind it. Is this one better than the previous ones?

So far that is definitely the nicest one yet, as for the 4:3 the one on the right looked fine.

it'll still have gi, they might just be always on, I think I found a way around the issue. I'm gonna make it with all the different tubes but just release 1 version, the others will just be available upon request. I think I'll go with this one for the fs unless there are issues with the gi.

Thanks. I knew what they did, I just didn't know the correct term. I had 'Gradual illumination' in my mind for so long. smile.gif

Well pretty much what is left to do:
-Targets
-Spinner, Gates, various brackets, and screws
-PF and GI lights and textures
-Coding

shouldn't be too much longer on the FS. The 4:3 will get converted from the FS, then i'll figure out the tube for the 4:3 version. Sorry 4:3 guys but the 4:3 will probably get released a week or 2 after the FS.
Anyway, here's a SS of the current state, probably won't have another SS till the FS is done and I start on the 4:3 conversion.
