Hi All I tried to get DOFLinx working on my 3 screen Cab with Pinball FX2 but cant get it to work.  I have DOF working for all games in VPX and I am using Pinball X to launch Pinball FX2.  I followed all the install instructions unblocked all the downloaded files, added all the specific paths to the INI file downloaded the Directbs2 file and put it in the specific folder as advised in the read me file and unblocked it. Added all the launch before properties in the Pinball X setup as per instructions etc etc but cant figure out what I'm doing wrong? also upgraded to latest version of DOF R3.

So whats happening is when I select the specific pinball fx2 table that I have the backglass for from PinballX the tables loads as normal the dmd show but now backglass and of course when played no feedback.  When pressing alt tab I see DOFLinx is running but nopw DirectB2s Backglass anywhere?

Its late here and time for bed ha ha ha I miss be missing something? Please help?

in your DOFLinx.ini file do you have DEBUG=1

Go in and clear the log try running then post your log and your DOFLinx.ini file

I think @Outhere has your issue, but a couple of other housekeeping things I can see

1. I'm not sure you want this line, it still looks like my test line to pulse relays when specific buttons are pressed.  Its a valid command and use of the command, just doesn't appear to have been customised

KEY_TO_OUTPUT=32 101 35 106 36 105

2. Are you intending to stop DOFLinx after every game you play with this line?

QUIT_AFTER_PROCESS=1

This will cause DOFLinx to exit after the process that triggered it disappears.  To run DOFLinx in the background at all times this would be set to 0 (zero)

I downloaded Doflinx 5.20 again and same thing now path lines in the INI file have to add myself.

Should I add the PATH_FX2= Line to the INI also and if so what directory should I point to? the place where the PinballFX2 games are? and where is this ha ha UPDATE I'm assuming this is the folder where the FX2 mapping files are?

Also DDH69 I haven't changed any of the outputs fromn the default in the INI should I go through and change to my DOF Config setup?

Also yes just wanted the Doflinx to work fdor Pinball FX2 as all DOF works with VPX so that's why I set QUIT_AFTER_PROCESS=1

thanks for the help guys

The DOFLinx.INI file included with the ZIP is a sample.  You need to set the device ports and paths as per your system.  The INI file has some very brief comments, but you will find much more information in the guide.

You do not need to change your DOF Config that you might have done in a tool on another site, for DOFLinx you just edit the DOFLinx.INI file.

PATH_FX2= needs to point to the folder where you have saved the *.FX2 files packaged in the ZIP.  Within the ZIP they are in a separate folder called FX2.

ok that added path made the backglass appear and I had DOF however I lost focus to the table went back to PINBallX loading screen and alt tab wouldn't bring it back. Also think I need to config the INI to reflect my DOF Config setup? thanks for the help no time again now will tackle it head on when home tonight?

oK so any tables that don't have a backglass are running with DOF perfectly as setup.  However the table with a backglass in PinballFX2 on launch from PinballX start to open I see Pinball FX2 screen backglass loads on 3rd screen and DMD lights but playfiled and Pinball FX2 seem to freeze and Pinball X loading screen show up again. Unable to fix any help on how to fix please?

This sounds like the focus issue that I've heard of previously.  Basically the starting of B2S causes FX2 to take focus and it screws up FX2.  It might be worth trying the latest release of 5.22 as it hides more effectively and the focus issue may not exhibit as much.

Thanks DDH69 I read all the previous comments and nothing seemed to work when it came to B2S backglasses so I have reverted back to the normal backglasses as all I really wanted was the DOF to work and now it does.

I will give the Latest DOFLinx a go in the nbear future.

One thing though is there a way to have the RGB lightening on my cab to trigger or turn on when a ball hits something or an in game event happens as it seems I can only getting all lights to turn on at the same time and change colour but they are always on they never turn off?  read guide and cant find what I need. Am I missing something??

RGB lighting simply changes based on the trigger you set, time or flipper.  For on/off you really need to turn your RBGs into a  flasher type device, then it will trigeer when that flasher activates.  Not nearly as colourful, but you get on/off.

Another alternative is to edit "black" as a colour into each of the GAME_COLOUR= lines for FX2.  That will give the effect of being turned off occasionally.  Not quite what you're after, but might get a bit closer for you.

Another option in fx2 in the video settings set to run borderless window that worked for me

Add these to your ini file and assign ports to the ones in red
