currently for em tables, you can have force feedback or digital mech sounds but not both at the same time

i made a tiny upgrade in the controller.vbs to allow to have both, here is the updated vbs, it will likely be included in future vp builds

Attached File  controller.rar   3.62KB   10 downloads

so to have dof and digital mech sounds on one type of "toy", do it like this in the controller.txt from the user folder

forcedisableB2S=0
UseDOFcontactors=2
UseDOFKnocker=0
UseDOFChimes=0
UseDOFBell=0
UseDOFGear=0
UseDOFShaker=0

so 0 enable digital sound, 1 dof and 2 both :)

LOL  I believe I'll leave them off on this one table in honor of Michael's cab since he made this very nice table.

just that i don't have a solution for the sometimes, for the moment, when you change that parameters, it affects all tables using controller.vbs

This is a perfect example of why this community rocks!!!  Excellent new table, some teething issues and constructive comments taken on board, updates a plenty and wellah!!!!  We have a perfect new version with or without sound/DOF...!!  Well done to the VP builders on this!  LOVE IT

After thorough evaluation of version 1.4 here are my test results: with chimes 100K and a headache, without chimes 350K and a smile. Thanks Michael for leaving in the option to disable chimes  ;) Oh and thanks Arngrim for making DOF work with this table and making it possible to layer it with the awesome bumper sounds  :tup:

I'll chime in really it's just the complete package now, plays, sounds and looks great, though I still don't understand why within DT settings authors go for those odd values either way my take on the DT settings...

Thank you Michael.

Just noticed and this is being a little too perfectionist, there is no little "tink" sound on gate1. :)

Hi StevOZ,

I think it is quite a difference, if Your DT resolution is 1680x1050 or 1920x1080. The Z Offset I leave mostly untouched out of habit as there were primitive scaling problems within VP9.

Thanks for the reply Michael, you are correct 1680x1050 is a 16:10 ratio and indeed I adapted it to my 1920x1080 ( 16:9 ratio display ). I've not noticed any problems with Z offsets with VPX, though indeed I know it was a problem in VP9.

Thanks again great table my high score is over the 100 000 pts mark now. :)

First I must say what a fantastic table thank you! 2nd it seems my plunger doesn't work with this table. I can use my launch ball button but not sure why the plunger don't work. Anyone?

Installed this beautiful table on my cab...

Looks great!

Only one strange thing : I don´t get any solenoid feedback from the upper bumpers...?!

Not sure, if I am missing something?

Hi Sifusun,

the DOF calls are in. Maybe You can check Your controller.txt for deactivated DOF components. Otherwise some of the DOF guys must step in, as this is beyond my experience. (the same applies for the plunger issue - sorry umpa)

update your ini files?

Hi arngrim... :)

I have only one single ini file : the " directoutputconfig.ini " file     from your (?)  site "

Should I have any other files??

Hi Michael! :)

My   " Controller.txt "  says:

forcedisableB2S=0
UseDOFcontactors=0
UseDOFKnocker=0
UseDOFChimes=0
UseDOFBell=0
UseDOFGear=0
UseDOFShaker=0

Is this file only for your table???    Most  of my other tables in the Cab are running fine :whistle:

I have two other (maybe involved ?!?)  files within the "visual pinball \ user" directory (where I found the "controller.txt" file):

(There are some other files in this directory, but I think they are not interesting...        for example "OldChicago_75.txt"  , "SkyJump_74.txt"   and others....)

One is named  " FastDraw.txt "   ... it only contains this numbers:

12990

The other is named:   " FastDraw_75 " ...  it says:

50000
0
5
1
1

no just generate a new file, possibly your ini is older than when the new config of that table was injected to the site

Just updated the 2 files " tablemappings.xml "  and   "directoutputconfig.ini "     from   " http://configtool.vpuniverse.com "

Same result: Fast draw 1.4  has no feedback to the flipper fingers  and no feedback to the bumpers.

"Only" feedback is all the LEDs and the solenoid for the "ball ejection" sound, when the ball is pushed in front of the plunger (= 1 solenoid sounds 1 time)

I have similar behaviour on some tables: Star Wars Bally (1979), Gemini, ...

Everything is fine with  Attack from Mars, Dirty Harry, ...

VPX is 10.1 Final , also updated (just in case) to VBS Scripts 3.50.....

Any suggestions, where to look for the force feedback issue???

Best regards :)

Hi sifusun,

I do think, Your controller.txt file should have a "1" for all the components, You have installed in Your cab (especially DOFcontactors). The controller file is for all the tables that use the new controller.vbs file at the top of the script.

There are lots of tables out there that use the older way with different DOF calls, though.

Michael
