Found this over at VPU, downloaded and ran in DT with the backglass and it works perfectly in 10.6.
Unchecked EMReels, Enable decals, and disable B2S
No errors and can see score lights and credits working as expected

Tried it & still no luck.

All I did was Uncheck Enable EM Reels and the error goes away.

 

Of course you need Disable B2S unchecked in Preferences Keys.

 

If you are trying to add the script to keep dB2S Backglass on screen, here is where I add the script..

 

Make sure the

apprun.Run("b2s.exe") matches the b2s.exe file you have.

If it is named b2sdt.exe then change to

apprun.Run("b2sdt.exe")

 

Will look like this when it works..

Hello , although I only registered like a couple of days ago ... I was working on my arcade setup and always wanted to add more pinball emulation (I only had pinball fx3 set up )  .... so a few weeks ago I started my journey here by checking out threads and vids on youtube .. and I have to say the forum was really helpful to get things done fast ... and since I have a one monitor setup because my dream cab that I'm working on will run everything not just pinball  .. so having the machine/back-glass/dmd on one screen is definitely something I really wanted ..

and it seems like the new changes in VP made it much harder to get that effect ... but I found an app that would bring the db2s window on top and it will save it even if u close the app .. when u start it up again all settings r saved .. it's perfect for me since I want an automated effect that I can use with my frontend/launcher ... so all I need is to add the db2s window and through an ahk I can just control everything .. open the app before launching a table and make sure the window and app exit when I close the table.

 

the app is called DeskPins and and it has win 10 support  .. and anyone can easily find it though a quick google search ...

install and run it ... all u need to do is right click on the taskbar icon and choose options ... then click on the "autopin" tab  .. check enable ...and add a new one

for name choose anything u like ... as for title and class .. open a table in VP with back-glass ..and alt+tab to the back-glass window ... then drag the sort of crosshair like icon next to title and class fields to the back-glass window and it will auto-fill them .. apply and save and that's all  ..now if you start a table with back-glass it will capture it and force it to be on top.

I tested on a few tables and they all worked fine.. Hopefully that might be helpful for anyone who wants to get it done real fast and I think it looks nice ... maybe later on I would set things up to run with pup packs but for now I'm happy with this .

I've been desperately trying to get the VPW Transporter the Rescue (1.05) vpx and Wildman's b2s to work together and this DeskPins does work, thanks @retrofan2022. It works the same as the old auto hotkey "alwaysontop" but without the need to set backwards compatibly. Ultimately I would MUCH prefer if @xenonph method worked but on this game it just refuses. With DeskPins I still need to alt-tab after starting the table and bring up the glass and then ctrl-F12 to pin it. It would be great if it automated but this will do for now

 

well with deskpins u can permanently add b2s to automatically appear over the top as long as the deskpins app is running ... i explained how it's done in my post :

that method worked for every table i used it on ...if u set everything right then all u need to do is run the app and it will do it's thing .

Hello.

I was able to see the backglass in desktop mode, but I don't see the DMD.

On non-DMD tables like the F-14, the score is displayed on the back glass.

I want to display DMD on the grill of the back glass, what should I do?

Will you display the DMD of PINMAME and move to the grill?

Should I download the back glass for 2 screens or 3 screens?

Looking at the options for hybrid shuffle alleys. I use a single screen which is basically just the BG w/DMD overlay, wondering if better to just design BGs with B2S Designer and only use VP for the script. Would a BG stay on the top when running with a table with no graphics on a single screen w/DMD?

Scripts for shuffle alleys are pretty much all the same, only thing diff is rom, output assignments and BG.

Any input or recommendations is appreciated...

dont put vpx into exclusive fullscreen mode (no need, you have no video performance to worry about)

 

 

BG should roll over top of the table

 

BG's can be set to come to front also

 

and if all else fails i can show you how to set vpx to run in a window and appear where ever you want on screen, including off the screen

All my testing was a fail, can not run a BG over the entire table on a single screen, tried every possible combination.

 

If the BG covers then entire table, then you have no inputs keys with VP in the background, thus the rom just sits in attract mode, not seeing this as an option with a single screen...

 

Any other ideas?

This must be a thing of the past?  You can create and modify the ScreenRes.txt by simply running the C:\Visual Pinball\Tables\B2S_SetUp.exe file...

 

    Now there is one more IMPORTANT file that needs to be in the tables folder with other 4 files. This is...

5) ScreenRes.txt

   I wasn't sure how to make this file myself. So I just found one that came with a table download. I then realized how easy it was to make my own, just by making a new txt file and naming it "ScreenRes".

I had the table and BG both small on side by side on a single screen, game only functions with mouse over table, same issue persisted when I made the BG full screen to hide the BG. Table must be on top to recieve inputs, thus don't work. Need BG full size on a single screen, anytime you do this, then VP is out of focus and can not recieve key inputs.

That's issue, I don't want VP to appear at all, only want BG to show... I have no problem setting up the windows, it's actually still being able to control the table, VP must be in front

Update your Backglass Server to the actual one. (backup your old files) Click with right mouse click on a backglass and be sure to activate bring BG Form to top. Do not run Visual Pinball in Fullscreen-Mode. Thats it.

Hi guys,using your methods is there also a way to place the dmd under the backglass in a 4:1 ratio by using the Screenres.txt? So that you don´t have to move EVERY dmd on its own?
