I just tried the table (and LOTR) on my computer and it works just fine w/HW rendering on smile.gif I have a Nvidia 8800GTS 320 MB version, so I guess 320 MB is just enough wink.gif Using driver version 191.07

Thanks a bunch for the table! I really prefer this over the version on the Williams Pinball HoF I spent $40 on for PS3. It runs great on my laptop and it has a weak video card, so I'm super-pleased!

I don't know if I've ever played this table in real life, and if I have, I don't remember it. Are the trolls that hard to hit in real life? It seems like you really have to hit them squarely on here - if you hit the front corners at all, it doesn't register. I find it's real hard to get Battle for the Kingdom because of it - practically have to have 2 madnesses lit and trolls lit by the time you hit merlin so you can go at them with 3 balls (and also once you get Troll Madness in the middle of the multiball, it's easier to rack up trolls destroyed).

Yes the real table has picky Trolls(at least to my knowledge it does). This is my favorite pin and played many a game back in the day so I'm pretty familiar with it and the version I played had very tough Trolls. You had to hit them square on and hit them hard.

It's conversely way too easy on the Williams PS3 game - it will count three hits if you roll a ball behind the troll and it sits there.

I play a real one almost every week. I think the real table is very easy to hit the trolls. The angle helps a lot. I always hit with a reasonable force. But I think that only slightly bumping doesn't enough to destroy it as the virtual table. And when he takes a hit by the ball, the troll head moves slightly.
Grettings!

Big Thanks to my friend Hassanchop for this very nice dmd.

If you play the real table with new Solenoids, the Trolls are easy to hit, you need a medium strenght shot, to hit them. But I guess its different from table to table. I like it when they are hard to hit, otherwise the mod is too easy. I will make it a little harder on my MM. But not too hard wink.gif

My current VPX Tables I am working on:

Attack from Mars/Finished - The Walking Dead Pro/90% - The Lord of the Rings/75% - Family Guy/90% - The Simpsons Pinball Party/15%

Can anyone tell me which ROM version is known to work with version 2.1 of this table? I have tried 1.09c but I get a list of errors. It looks like it is trying to run v1.0 of the ROM (I did download this version at one time but I have since deleted it from my ROM folder). Any help would be appreciated.

If you look in the script near the beginning it allows you to select from several roms, at least I imagine it's the same for this version.

Load the game into the editor, click the Script icon at the left of the editor near the top. The script will appear, then near the top find these lines...

CODE
'Const cGameName= "mm_10" 'Williams official rom
'Const cGameName="mm_109" 'free play only
'Const cGameName="mm_109b" 'unofficial
Const cGameName="mm_109c" 'unofficial profanity rom

The selections with the ' in front are not selected, only one can be selected in this case I'm using the profanity rom. ohmy.gif

Select whichever rom you like by editing those lines though you will most likely need the mm_10 rom as this is the offical rom and the others may need it in your roms folder to work.

Thanks! That helped. It works (I can get it loaded) but the ROM "skips" when loaded and the animations for the table do as well making it unplayable. My PC hardware specs are not an issue in terms of power. Any ideas on what could be causing this? All other VP9s I have tried work flawlessly ( Theatre of Magic, Simpsons. Tommy, Black Knight, Indiana Jones, etc).

Difficult to say what's causing the skipping.

It maybe something else running in the background, it's always best to make sure you have as few applications running as possible when running VP. Also you might just need to completely exit VP and reload it as that can fix these issues sometimes.

Does not appear to be recognizing coins. Have to "open" it with END and press "7" to get credits.

Fantastic, still I can't put my finger on it, but I'm getting some weird bounces, also some kind of strange graphics glitch I suspect is related to the flashers...I'll check it out some more. smile.gif
