The import/export option works like a charm!!! :)

It also saves alot of time!

so come on people, anyone willing to come up with/share some sets that are useful for a whole bunch of tables?

Maybe abit off topic, but isn't it about time to replace the default sounds for flippers, plunger aso. They have been there from the very beginning, and they sound abit funky....sorry good old Randy!  ;)
Also...by default....have ball rolling on the playfield sounds.
This would make a huge difference in older tables.

If you have good sounds that i could include (i.e. we have the rights to include them), go ahead and PM them to me, it will be a pleasure to replace them!

As for ball rolling sounds: i thought about that already, too, but am unsure how to do that so that it is general enough (think about ramps, different materials, etc, that are currently handled in the script) and not too annoying (i.e. some special cases might also fail).

Maybe someone can put together a good sound set for you.....to bad i don't have any for you.

About the rolling sounds....true, its alot of things to have in mind, and also....it may interupt with the "in script"  sounds.

I use slower flipper speeds with greater strength then most to allow for reduced more realistic flipper arc settings and reduced amounts of oblique correction. I've found greater amounts of oblique correction tend to lead to unrealistic back flips. I also feel a gravity constant of 1.667 to be too high, allowing for unrealistic easier ball trapping, here are my preferred settings of course these may need slight adjustments depending on the table concerned.

Gravity Constant = 1.55
Contact Friction = 0.0025
Dampening Speed = 60
Dampening Friction = 0.95

Flippers for SS tables and later EM should be of a length of 121 with the standard ball size. I use a Start angle of 118 and a End Angle of 64, this is a 54 degree arc and close to that of most real machines of course those setting also may need slight adjustments depending on the table concerned.

Speed = 0.08
Strength = 1.8
Elasticity = 0.6
Scatter Angle = 0
Return Strength = 0.4
Recoil Velocity = 4
Power Law = 2
Oblique Correction = 1.05

Almost forgot I generally set the slope at 6.67 to allow for the lower gravity setting, this maybe considered a bit high, though I like a faster more challenging ball speed.

So far I have physics preset option 1) A+ 2) Bad Cats (personal fave) and now 3)A+Oz
Thanks
(Evel K and the Harlem Globetrotters especially say THANKS!)

I know there hasent been alot posted to this topic in a while, and most of the physics discussions resides itself in other post (Mostly the DX9 thread at the moment) I felt it kind of important to share the physic files that I have exported and shared them with you. This is nothing special other than a collection of physics I felt where good enough to try with other tables to try and get proper results, kind of trial and error. My favorites in this collection are the LOTR_My_edit which is just Oz's table physics with the default flipper physics (reduced power a touch) and the Guns'N Roses DE physics are also amazing (they used JP physics for baseline and where adjusted for 9.2 by teppotee in his 9.2 FS release.)

Anyways I included a zip of the physics I thought where good just incase someone wants to play around with them.

DHogsett,

thank you for these tweaks, they are excellent.

can you look at Austin powers 1.3? it is really difficult to aim the middle of the playfield now, i don't know how to make it better
