It didn't really have sound before -
CORE_GAMEDEFNV(sureshot,"Sure Shot",1981,"Taito",taito_sintetizador,GAME_IMPERFECT_SOUND)

I get tones for the game, but it's not correct.
LTD's Cowboy Eight Ball has decent sound. smile.gif

Back again. Just a question: For Jokerz!, is the sound emulation fixed yet? Because a while back, when I was using Pinmame32 2.3, I heard a different start-up beep than the normal beep in the WMS Alpha-numeric/Pre-DCS DMD pinball machines. I heard that beep from the arcade game NARC (also from Williams), which was a Z-unit, different from the Y-units at the time (well, actually, the Y-unit didn't come out till 1990, NARC came out in 1988, the same time period for Jokerz!) By any chance does it use the same/simular sound hardware from the NARC units?

We use a hack for the Jokerz sound emulation to allow sound to work without the loud squeal when the game boots up now. It sounds exactly like the real Jokerz machine for sale at the local pinball resale shop here in colorado. They have it set up for free play.

hi guys, i have to ask,

i have been using the pinmame cabinet build.
i have had version 3.00 for the cabinet build.
i have just swapped the dll, without doing the full install, and now it says i have version 2.4
is this correct?
is it because it is the UNOFFICIAL cabinet build?
is 2.4 the most current cabinet build?

i have never understood the version # for the cabinet build....//thanks/sparky

Thanks for that - I simply forgot to change the version number, or it got reverted to say 2.4.... By making it 3.00 you avoid a popup when games say they need 2.5 or 2.6 or 2.7 or whatever version of vpm is out at the time.

It sounds like you're playing vp9 tables with vp8. Use the vp9.exe to play vp9.

Anyone else having this issue? VPM keeps uninstalling itself. It plays for a day or 2, then I get the multiple errors and go to the install (.exe file) where it tells me VPM is not installed. I reinstall it and everything works- until I have to do it again.

Also I have these 3 Playmatic tables that won't play. The tables load, but that's it. No errors, nothing. Not even the plunger operates. I have tried waiting to load the tables before and after pressing play also.
