huh.gif Erm....I thought I answered how to change ball size in post #36 above. think.gif

The thread that you linked to just makes reference to the user guide, exactly the same as I did, but my answer also gives an example. unsure.gif unknw.gif

sorry D,
started up the PC.
went into the script.
not sure what you mean to create a diiferent ball size with kicker1.
thats why i did not reply back.

do we add a line or change something in the script?

lets use CheetahVP9FS as an example.
the ball is so small.
it is VP8 rotated.
opened the script window.
opened edit search.

typed kickercreateball.
0.
no results.

typed kicker.
clicked next or enter on the KeyBoard to search down the script.
line 92- bsSuacer.Initsaucer Kicker1, xx, x, xx(32,0,19)
line160- Sub Kicker1_Hit : bsSaucer.AddBall 0:playsound "Kicker":End Sub
line188- Set Lights(3)=L3 'Side kicker Lane

that is all in the edit search.
no create ball in the CheetahFS script.
alot of tables do not have create ball in the script.

so, gentlemen,
some tables the ball is too big or too small.
how do we create a different ball size in tables that may have a create ball or do not have create ball?
hope i was clear.

can you not import and export the balls from a different table.....to accommodate the table for which you need the right size ball

@pilky
I assume you're meaning import/export the image - actually has no effect on physical ball size - different ball sizes would need to be physically created.

@Chas
I misunderstood - I thought the question was about creating balls of different sizes on an original table - for pinmame tables I refer you to this thread: Overcoming the tyranny of oblique correction...
I'm looking into it now (but I don't think I'll fully have the time this weekend).

thats fine.
no presuure.
running ok since 08.
just working out some things 1 at a time when i get around to it.
worked on tilt nudge then flipper lag on some tables.
put lag down for now.
probably the 2.2 single core.
need a better CPU.
too slow.

did a search.
not much came up on "create ball size."
the user guide did not have what i was looking for.

im sure we all need to go through a learning process with the VP program unless you are born with a computer spoon in your mouth.

saw some threads with the idea of using "core" to create the bigger ball.
opened core with notepad.
opened edit search.
typed "createball" in the seaech box.
there are alot of 'kicker1" and "createball" down the script.

added to the "createball" line (50) and createball(50).
did not work.
do we use the core script to create a bigger ball or does it need to be done in the table script?

No, Mitchell...Chas means for pinMAME, not vp.

I spent a few hours of last weekend trying to get the core.vbs to do it....managed to get a different size ball by default by changes only to the core.vbs, but couldn't work out how to get it to read in & use a different value from vp.
Very irritating as it looks like it should be easy, it's just I can't get it to do it.
(even think I've worked out how to prevent problems with backward compatibility too...just can't get current compatibility to work laugh.gif whistle.gif search.gif )

Not had any more time to do it since then...and I'm not sure anyone else is working on it.

Dan.

Kicker.CreateSizedBall(50)
Kicker.Kick 320, 25>>>>>>>

thanks Mitch and (Wiz)Dan for your time and reply.
no frontends or addons.
vp905-912 desktop execs only.
if i remember correct i added create ball under kicker1 (and/or) in "table initialize" section in the script.
some tables need a change.
no pressure.
when you PC wizards have time.
ill keep working on it.

where in the table script window in the the VP9xx desktop exec do we create the line as above in VP and Pinmame tables?
what does Kicker.Kick 320, 25, direction and strength have anyhting to do with creating a different sized ball?

look at Cheetah vp9FS.
this is good example.

a few things ive been working on.

1
spinner post or the support legs...........
the spinners post or support legs have no elasticity on some tables.
the ball sticks to it like a magnet.
nudge to get it off the spinner post.
it does not roll off.
tried making some chnages in the editor for elasticity.
there are no chnages for the spinner post.
spinner only.
sometimes i could increase the length into the wall.
some tables did not work that way.
a post was on the PF.

2
kickers............
A)
some tables the kicker kicks out at random different directions.
used the edit search.
the kicker wasw kicker1.
typed kicker1 in the edit search.
next or enter to search the script.
changed the direction and strength.
still kicks out at random directions.

B)
how do i decrease the elasticity of a ball in a kicker rail.
when i hit a ball in a stationary confined rail to hit a target the ball in play kicks back too hard.
cannot find anything for elasticity for this in the editor.

suggestions?
thanks

Sorry about the Kicker.Kick 320, 25 when I post the other one. Your right. Just ignore that part.

320 is the direction. Choose 0 through 360.
25 is the power of the kick. Lower will weaken the kick. Higher will kick harder.

Kicker.CreateSizedBall(50)
Kicker.Kick 320, 25 (ignore)
you design and create the tables.
some tables need a different ball.
too much work to fix the table for the existing ball if too big or too small.
easier to create a different ball.
have you had time to look at Cheetah in vp9FS tables in "visual pinball cabinet" in the red menu bar?
Cheetah vp9FS is a good example in pinmame.
my question is; where in the script do we add the line in VP, originals, and pinmame tables to create a different sized ball?

the ball in play kicks back too hard when i hit another ball in a rail.
Lost World is an exmaple of a table with a ball in a rail.
hit the 2nd ball target.
the ball in the rail kicks to hit a target for the extra ball.
sometimes the ball in play is kicking back too hard after hitting the ball in the rail.
no suggestions on how to decrease the elasticity for this?

wizards.
i would like a suggestion for #57.
i looked for a way to do this.
sometimes the ball kicks back hard down the drain.
should not do that.
need to tone down the kick back.
