You'll NEVER get rid of the useful 2D graphic hacks. NEVER I SAY! :)

Haha, you're maybe right, but at least we should have it well defined then, currently (at least to me) it's a real mess to get things rendering the right/intended way..

Upgraded today to 9.15 without a hitch, everything till so far just plays great, i've tested some 30 table's today, all seems fine.

Installed the new BadCats and it all sure is an improvement again, thanks team for the ongoing development of Visual Pinball !

Can anyone tell me why "Q" now does the same thing as "Esc" key?  As I said earlier, this causes a problem at least on Riverboat Gambler, or any other table that might use Q.

The key set as the 'Exit Key' in the VP key settings now works the same as the ESC key... if you don't want it to be Q, you can always set it to something else... Tab, Caps Lock, or any other keyboard key (except esc, but esc still opens the exit menu unless disabled).

I just noticed that if you use 0 instead of 360 roation on the backdrop, the ball stretching no longer works.  So, for now at least I guess we need to keep using 360?

Hi to all,

I have a question about VP915 and Win8. I have installed my new Win8 OS 64 today and I have noticed, that I can't play the tables in Full Hd( 1920x1080) resulotion. The same with FP. Can you please tell me if I did something wrong?

Thank you.

I never used win8 with VP/FP, most haven't either. If I had to guess, I'd say video drivers are causing you difficulty running at the higher rez.

Exactly. I'd use an older driver if one works. Many of us are using 270.61 for the nVidia cards.

Thanks for your reply. I use the newest nvidia driver.

OK, I will give it a try.

Thanks again.

Edit: Nothing has changed. There is no selection for 1920x1080 in the editor (VP & FP).

At this point it would be better to run VP/FP on windows 7 or XP. There is no benefit to windows 8 for VP. Windows 8 is too new and VP is old. There is a alot of experience in this group with these 2 operating systems. Why cause yourself work? Just my suggestion.

Maybe you're right, but I can't understand this problem, for me it is  unexplained. What has the resolution to do with the OS?

Thanks again.

Not certain if this is your issue, but when you say you cannot play vp or fp at the 1080p resolution, are you referring to the border around the screen? if yes, your issue may be rectified via the scaling option of your video card driver. If not, then unsure, however I can confirm that my brother in law has VP and FP working no problems in win 8

H, vista, win7 and win8 need a lot of high speed RAM for gaming and high resolution.

it will crash in high res if it does not have enough HS RAM.

in the new 'puters use 8gs of HS DDR3 1333-1600

try lower res on 1280 and 1380 in the 91x, check the box for full screen and match the desktop resolution.

they both need to be the same.

if it loads and plays you need more faster RAM.....8gs 1333-1600

modify the 'puter proper and the problems will stop.

how much RAM do you have, what is the speed and are you on desktop or laptop?
