well I know that even in the condition they were in, with little effort at all, here in Australia any one of those cabs could have fetched hundredsof dollars. If he wants to cost himself that kind of money for the sake of a truly stupid stunt, then thats his lookout I guess. Doesn't stop me from being stunned at his senselessness.

I agree about being stunned at his senselessness.

Coin pushes that pay out cash can be fun. I miss the old IGT Flip it game.

Todd is a moron. He paid those guys to carry all of that stuff up to the roof and then throw it off and then clean it up and then haul it to the dump.... He could have placed a FREE sign on them and saved all of that labor and gained a happy customer.
and they are not payed at other times? and that must be fun how many times to do people at work get to brake stuff.
I one heard this one story where some one at a job one took a coffee or other Vending Machine that broke down alot and loaded on a train car.

I think everyone should look at the moral of his story... "anyone will buy anything at an auction" .
I thought that was the most offensive joke of the whole video, and nobody in thread had stuck around long enough to see it.

Allow me to give you some first-hand experience with this company:
I bought a machine from them back in 2001, long before the video shown existed that I know of otherwise I would not have bought anything from them.
They came and set up the machine at the appointed time and did an excellent job doing so. They were in and out in about 1/2 hour.
One of the plusses I found with the company was they offered a 5-year warranty on the machine. And for a 20-year old machine the fact that they did offer a warranty was amazing to me.
However, the minuses outweighed that plus and any other plusses that I may have had.
- I had several issues with the sound board on the machine, and I had to send it back at least twice for repair and eventual replacement.
- The cabinet, although in reasonably good shape, still had holes drilled into it in the front where the bar that went across the coin door (when the machine was stored in the arcade) would be. One hole had a bolt stiffed into it while the other hole was open. They wouldn't even bother to fill the holes!
- The apron was bent although it didn't impede the ball
- The coin door was the wrong door for the particular machine. In fact there was a screw jammed into one of the coin slots
- The coin mechs were not functional on the machine
- No coin box
- Drop targets had no decals
- Leaf contacts needed adjusting
- Speaker at the bottom of the cabinet developed a bad hum after the warranty ran out
- They supplied replacement bulbs and fuses, but no replacement rubbers
- Manuals were sent two weeks after the game was set
- No lock for coin door or bacbox
After buying from reputable companies drop target and spinner decals, whole new rubber set, proper coin door w/working mechs, coin box, door locks plus other items the machine was close to restored fully. Could not afford much more to repair the cabinet or replace the apron as at the time I was going into the hospital for eye surgery.
In the end, knowing now what I did not know then, I would have never bought the machine from that company
Live and learn.

What absolute tossers. As already mentioned these cabs were all suitable for mame and vp projects. I would have paid good money for any one of them.
They fail to understand their customer base. Most people that want an original arcade machine have some emotional attachment to it from when they were younger. For everyone else they buy the new 50 in one custom built cabs. Chuck a bunch of those off a building and noone would care because they have no history attached to them. However all of these did.
Destroying these publically simply alienates their prospective customer base. I would never buy from them. It's discusting and offensive.
Instead they could have stripped the machines of the bad parts and made a video of them showing that some parts can't be mended but stating that they couldn't find it in their hearts to destory these great old classics, so instead they gave the remaining parts/cabs away to their enthusiast customers for restoration projects. SHow some happy enthusiasts faces and then show the quality of their actual stock. Now that would have made me very happy. Instead they can go rot in hell.
----Edit: I just went to post a comment on their You Tube video however now they are filtering all responses so I'm sure they won't post what I said. Here it is for your enjoyment:
"@tntamusements You guys are first class idiots. You are selling classic games to people that have fond memories of these machines and then destroying them in front of them. This simply alienates your customer base. You fail to understand the emotional attachment your prospects have to even non working machines. Your responses to comments demonstrate your complete lack of customer service skills and business naivety. Please release your commercial so people can AVOID your business. EPIC FAIL."
----Edit 2: I just received a youtube email reply from TNT Amusements:

Message: Nostalgic over rotting waterlogged games? Sorry buddy--you missed the point. The "collector" in this hobby only buys odd ball parts from time to time from me. HE is NEVER going to be a customer. I am selling to a public that DEMANDS quality--something that won;t be broken in 4 weeks, and want to be able to call someone who will not only answer the phone, but will fix it--rather than the "promises" made by so many "would-be" collector-dealers that are NEVER there for the customer after the sale.

If these clowns had any class they would have apologized that their youtube vid provoked a negative reaction.
Instead they respond on the defense, with continued offensive tone TELLING their market what is good for them. This feels like an last ditch attempt to save face and an inability to see any perspective other than their own.

All I saw was the still for the video. I could not bring myself to watch it any more than I could bring myself to watch the guy with the chainsaw cut up an old EM! Unless a game's already been parted, THERE ARE ALWAYS PARTS!!

From what I saw, there were no waterlogging or rotting, just good cabs being destroyed. DENIAL is NOT a river in Egypt, people.
And here's a thought about the freebie thing: Maybe those people you give freebies to will become paying customers for the parts? Just one man's opinion........
And here's a thought about the freebie thing: Maybe those people you give freebies to will become paying customers for the parts? Just one man's opinion........
"Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors." - Andrew Boyd

It would certainly be better then these losers having to pay the public dump when they go to dispose of their machines. Something tells me they probably didn't dispose of them in a legit way like that though.
