Looks fantastic! Crazy idea I just had. You know how cars have sensors that detect when it's dark outside to automatically turn on the headlights? What if we could rig one of those to a pincab and when it's dark in the room have it display a night version of a table? Off topic i know but just thought of it! :D

In principle that should be doable, but currently would have to be done on a per-table basis. But then again we have 'complicated' stuff like B2S and DOF already, so .. ..

This is the exact same table, untweaked, just dimming the global lightsources (and this table hasn't even been prepared for this setting specifically):

Not at the moment. There are still pre calculated elements on the table which prevent this. But maybe I can optimize the engine in a way that we don't need static elements in the future but time will tell ;)

I dont post much on this forum, mostly read and lurk in the shadows :)

But for this I realy have to post a comment :)

"Great work!!!!"

I sometimes take a peek at the sourceforge changesets, and see that Toxie & Fuzzel regulary commit changes to the trunk. I am eagerly waiting for a first beta/RC and what tables other people can build with this version in the period after the release..Any forecast for a possible release date/week/month? Is it possible that you guys share a "Todo list" or backlog of the work left to be done?

Not here to rush anything, just curious & impatient ..... ooo the waiting.... :(

I'm gonna guess "1 month" and then hold them to that

I'm excited for the improved lighting

i think there is not -that- much left on our todo-lists to enter the public beta phase.. so hopefully very soon..

and the official release? don't know.. that all depends on how many bugs people find, and what will be missing/what we forgot on the way..

Default table? As a included demo table it would be nice. As a starting point it would suck. At some point (git for me) people are going to want to start by building, not stripping.

Doesnt the current vp9 vp8 default table have objects slings flipper a plunger and triggers?

No matter what you have to strip the default table down?

Just saying.....

Do you mean the default table should just be blank?

If you're going to add blank, I would prefer the "NEW" menu to be a context menu that has New Table or New Blank Table.  I like all the new stuff on the default table myself, but I could see wanting a blank canvas instead.
