PIN-BOT is a WIP?  Awesome.  Then the only one left from my quest to eliminate TPA would be Haunted House!

Great, can't believe I missed that one.  Even in beta is looking pretty good.

 

I definitely check out the other sites in VP world, just missed this one I guess.

 

Something for another topic maybe, but I always wondering about the underlying tensions and such between some of the different sites.  Being relatively new to VP, and simply a user of the results of this great community (across multiple sites), I always wondering about the origins of some in some of the things you see: for example, why does one venerated creator only post to one site, and not all?  Others do two or even three (I count three major, one minor site for table postings).  I have seen some posts that allude to differences of opinions with the different sites as well have heard in person people talking about the other sites that surprised me in their attitude.  And then with all of the interactions between actual pinball companies and these sites fascinates me in a daytime soap opera kind of way.  And then obviously just the history of the VP/vpinmame and how all that happened.  All very fascinating.

 

Reminds me of a great site that kind of digs into the history of PC gaming and the behind-the-scenes action going on.  Wonder if someone would ever do that for VP.

I won't dip my toes into that water here. You've got a hobby where people spend sometimes hundreds of hours on a project so feelings run pretty hot about these things (mine included sometimes).

 

I will say that personally uploading content to multiple sites and answering questions on multiple support threads is a chore. Might as well camp out where you feel the most comfortable. In the longterm I don't really think a single consolidated site would do anything but alienate content creators. There is probably a metaphor about religious denominations in here somewhere...

Yeah, definitely wasn't expecting any actual answers, just was musing <puts down Knob Creek drink>.  I can definitely see how it would be a chore to respond in multiple places.

I simply prefer to have my tables in one place, and as a result the support thread is also in one place.

Totally get it.  I guess I was hoping that there was a more soap opera reason like: the Italians kidnapped me and and substituted my evil twin brother to exclusively work on Taito tables or something.
