Sorry if this was answered before but my friend asked if VPX accepts imports of models from solidworks, unigraph or creo? I've seen some incredible models/primitives lately, it must be so! He's making a cool toy for an original tables but would like to export it to VPX.

does it always crash? btw what do you exactly do when you say "selecting with the mouse"? Do you use the selection-box, or left-click while holding shift to multi-select elements?

I use the selection-box, this is click on an empty place and draw a rectangle around a few objects. It does not always crash, it can work for hours. Mostly what I do while building a table is to select objects using this selecting box to select a peg, the rubber, the screw and the wall around, to copy/paste it, usually from another table, but also from the same table. While making the plastics, using walls, or adjusting the rubbers,  I use to use this selection-box to select several points at the same time to move them all, or rotate them. This is why I use a lot this selection-box, since it is faster than select one point at a time.

I'll try the selection box but was in vp for many hours last couple days with no crashing. Dark did decrease his image sizes so I think that helped ;)

Here it is another crash dump. This time the crash came after right clicking on top of several objects. I had open in the editor the new table I'm making and the old VP9 table, and I was copying the names of the switches from the VP9 table to the VPX table.

It had been working fine for a few hours.

That is a tough one and I don't have a clue what that might behave caused that. I guess we won't able to fix every cash bug but I'm glad to hear that you can work with the latest version multiple hours without problems. So I guess we should release a 10.3.1 version?

I would vote for a yes here - you have after all asked for break and god damn it would be a well deserved one. It is not like VP is going to be bug free any day soon, we simply have to find our ways around the problems. Getting a editor that is mostly stable is of course important and thank you for addressing this with the seriousness I think it needs in order to push VP even further away from the "rest".

Edited by Thalamus, 30 June 2017 - 07:32 PM.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Yes, release the 10.3.1, the editor is much more stable. And VP has always crashed more or less but that has never stopped us to make tables :) But never crashes while playing and that's the most important :)

Thank you toxie and Fuzzel and to all involved for doing all this work for the pinball community!

I agree with Thalamus. You all deserve to take a break. Time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I work on these tables more than I play them, and I try to take breaks and play all the great tables everyone has made, but I always find myself going right back to work on these tables!! When you love doing something, time has no meaning, and breaks from something you have a passion for, seem to be a rarity for me. And I am assuming anyone else with these passions for this hobby. I had another author message me recently, saying that they also worked on tables more than playing, and they were ready for break and wanted to start enjoying all these fruits of there labor, and others.

In short, take all the break you guys need, but I know you won't be gone for long. It's in your blood.

Thanks again!!

From a user-point-of-view.....

When updating to 10.3.1 would it be possible to have a look at the behaviour of the magna save buttons in camera mode as well (see my post a couple ago)

Thank you very much for all the effort you guys put in this!

When you go into the Camera mode are these values saved? It resets and not sure how to enable saving?

I think they are saved in the xml file.

EDIT: I think the xml file may be for portrait mode settings.

I am not for sure about this, so maybe wait for someone else who has more experience with the Camera Mode.
