@UltaPeepi

Thank you so much for all the work you have done in creating and maintaining UltraDmd

With the Rotate X - was wondering if you have had any success in setting that up, I notice (as a cab user) that two tables could work great with the Ultadmd on the playfield -  Jp's Slimer, and Ckpin's WOZ wip

And obviously for desktop user's it would allow them to use UltraDmd for any table

It does work amazingly well as is for 2/3 screen setups

Thanks again

OK.  I fixed the download link.

download

I won't be able to do anything about the Rotate X, however.  I am hip deep in other endeavors.  Sorry.

So I got a little motivated and I updated UltraDMD to work with the latest version of XDMD and latest windows and libraries. Im going to include the source with XDMD once i clean it up commit.

There is an install and go here: https://www.gameex.i...ball-installer/

Hopefully should just work and that's it.

I've only tested on Windows 10 but the whole point was to get it up to date.

Hopefully Toxie will update his install too to include this version.

With this release it has the potential for 64 bit binaries and real DMDs.

It should natively support PinDMD2 and 3 and also supports dmddevice.dll to work with any other DMD.

I hope I am not stepping on toes but I just kind of went on a mission with it.

Enjoy!

I also created an individual installer here.

Unfortunately the editor does not work with the new build though so couldn't include it.

That is wonderful news @tspiers

I've been swearing at the thing for introducing lag for ages. Crossing my fingers. Whatever the outcome. Thank you very much for "updating" it. !

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Most welcome. I don't know how it will fair performance wise. I tend to have nice kit.

VSync is enabled in UltraDMD.  That's going to have a big hit. The app will just sit there locked waiting for the scan line. Report back and ill see how it works with it turned off.

Actually, here you go already. Here is an updated exe with vsync off. Let me know how you go. Vsync is updated in the latest version of XDMD. Probably has even more lag! I don't turn it on for PinballX.

I tend to think vsync is overkill for DMDs anyway. Although I expect the author didn't realise the impact.

Thinking more about it its actually a very bad idea to have Vsync turned on so I am just getting to release another version with it off.

I am happy to brush up a few rough edges with it. I find the code easy to follow. I may be taking the piss a bit though. Im now not sure on the status of the source code. It was particularly avilably though. I think Lucky ([Pin2DMD uses stolen and/or infringes IP. PinDMD is the genuine product ;) ]) put it up. I guess we will see..

PS: I didnt type that!

I guess it wasnt working earlier because I was in the thick of it but the scene builder is working with the updates so I just released 2.03 of the installer which includes it.

PS: I am really doing this as a fanboy and lets be honest the availability of the files needed a bit of work.

The installer worked much better thank you

I am testing with an LCD monitor

I tried 2 Games

Diablo Pinball v1.0.3-DOF

This game the DMD comes up and then goes blank and then in certain parts of the game it gives you information

With the older version of UltraDMD when DMD comes up it give you a Presentation And is active through the game

Champions League (Season 18) TT&NZ v1.0

It tells me it needs full color UltraDMD to run this game so when I select full color the game does not run

It is looking for version 1.4 or higher

If I uncheck full color than a game runs

Yeah, I think the source code I have is out of date. Dont know what to do about that.

I meant well anyway! I didnt really have to make any code changes to UltraDMD, it was just XDMD.

I guess we will have to see what the author thinks about it before proceeding.

I am able to get the current source code but unfortunatly cannot proceed without permission.

Its a shame as its not been updated for 2 and a half years.

Ive upated the installers to use the current version. I think my installers offer some nice benefits and avoid users having to jump through hoops. The installer should still be click and go without issues.

I have been looking into updating this as well. I heard there are things that need to be fix/updated and was thinking of digging into it. Is there a list of things that need to be fixed or enhanced?

Nothing can be done right now as the project is not open source.

There is not much wrong with it as far as I know. The main issue was getting it running at all but that is addressed with my installer.
