Hey Sinbad,

where did you get the script to create the LCD lettering on the backglass?  It looks really sharp! I'd like to use that if thats ok.

-Mike

I just wanted to add that those are normal VPX lights :) And they look awesome! :)

That's right, the real stars are the VP devs who did a perfect job on VP10 to make such brilliant illusions possible.

You need to calm down. Why was this even mentioned in this thread and what has it got to do with anything table testing?

Fair play, he will allow anybody to use anything in his tables, and he wouldn't be the only one. Why are you making a big issue of it?

Someone that spends.... lets say 40+ hours, working on a table is close to an "unpaid" working week.

Do you not see that some people would have preference not to mod for this reason so someone can grab, change a few bits and relabel it as their own work?

Boils down to the wishes of the author. You need to respect that decision and not make a big deal out of it.

Only the worlds largest pinball...Hercules.

I am making it real size as real machine so that's why plunger object looks so small. Table is huge

OK, so I have never messed around with the desktop background stuff before.  I'm seeing that it scales differently than the table.  I put together an image at 1080 to fit, but I realize that not everyone may play at that resolution.  How do you deal with the odd scaling that can take place?

I had a similar problem before. The problem is not the scaling, the problem is the aspect ratio, that changes. In your example you switch from 16:9 to 4:3 or something like that. I also racked my brain about a perfect solution, but presently I don't know any. Possible aspect ratios are not only 16:9 and 4:3, the aspect ratio could be anything. For example 1680x1050 is 16:10.

Maybe anybody else has an idea?

Xscale:Yscale ratio for a WSDT should be 3:4.

Which means the Xscale = Yscale*0.75  for 16:9 ratio displays which are the most common displays these days for example 1920x1080 or 2560x1440...

For 16:10 displays such as 1920x1200 or 2560x1600 the Xscale should be set at Xscale = Yscale*0.833333.

For 4:3 displays Xscale and Yscale should be equal.

As far as I'm aware those setting can only be adjusted in the editor and are not adjustable via script, that said this is a adjust once and save according to the aspect ratio of your monitor and not the difficult to implement by the end user.

I like the look of that new backdrop. :)

The table is ok I think.  It's the backdrop image and the lights I put on the backdrop that don't stay together. X/Y scale seems to only affect the table itself not the back drop.

Guys: I think it's awesome when authors freely offer their assets and tables without restrictions, really appreciate it and I think its cool to ensure an authors position is clear on this. But when we start to politicize this in a way that demeans the other side, this is basically waving your own pecker as your point of view is better than the other POV. Ironic considering that is one members opinion of what occurs when an author is protective of his/her own work.

This politicizing of this issue has no business in this thread, so kindly keep it out of it. It's enough we are starting to see this demeaning of the opposing view start creeping in other threads, can't do much about that but I can ask for some restraint in this thread, please respect my wishes. Thanks.
