A note to Fuzzel,

The debug/material dialog window works fine now. :) Thanks

It's just missing the 3 little color boxes on the left side.

They still pull up the working color dialog, just the color box/button itself is invisible.

One thing I'd like in the Layers window/palette, but doesn't have to be immediately, would be the ability to actually click and drag elements into different layers on the layers window itself. I figured out the "assign to layer" button (and that can stay), but it's not the most directly intuitive thing to use.

Thanks Toxie, there is now a large choice of resolutions.

To me, it almost always crashes by closing the player.

When you say 'almost' it doesn't crash everytime you quit the player? Do you use exclusive fullscreen or command line options? I can't reproduce the crash here.

Btw: in the next update you can drag and drop a single element in the layers tree view. Multiple selection isn't supported by Microsoft for this control type :(

No worries, even moving a single item is an improvement, and multiples, I definitely noticed that the layers windows isn't a good way to do selections compared to the "standard" way.

More or less I have tried a dozen times, and 2 times it hasn't crashed, with a ROM table and a simple one like the example table.
I don't use exclusive fullscreen.
Command line options ?, if this option is "Start VP with File dialog ...." no, I don't use it.

Could we have a way to control the 'Disable desktop composition' flag on a per table basis?

I found that having this checked helps with avoiding ball stutter on several tables (I'm on Windows 7), so I want to set it as the default in VP settings. However, some tables (like Harry Potter or Stranger Things, probably others - perhaps the ones using PUP?) don't work properly with it disabled, so I would like to enable it for them individually. Currently I don't see this setting in the table options, unless I'm missing something.

Thanks!

(sorry for cross-posting this after its separate thread, I figured this may be a better place to ask for this feature)

We had an Issue, where we needed "setlocale(1033)" ( see Pinball by Stern on … ), otherwise we got a Script Error for a .75 Value,

can someone explain the Command ?

Yeah. High chance both you Toxie and Fuzzel are struck by this issue https://vpinball.com.../2/#post-182769

Haven't seen that feature used much though. So ... maybe not the highest of priority.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

The setlocale function is actualy a vbscript function outside of VP. You may want to be careful with it, it could mess other things up with your computer operations. I don't recall the specifics. Keyboard, language etc... You may have to use getlocale first to set it back when you are done.
It tells the system what part of the world you are from. Locale ID (LCID) Chart...https://www.vbsedit....54c6440bf70.asp

We used those functions years ago for tournaments, tracking time zones for score entry.

Scratch this... I was wrong, this doesn't make a difference in those games, it was apparently just a hiccup.

Cool, thanks for the correction! I always try to keep the amount of per-table-options small, as not all users are experts and i want the "average" user to still be able to roughly understand all of the user-options in order to make meaningful tweaks there, otherwise ppl will shoot themselves in the foot, especially when later-on updating GFX card or even the whole system.

Will there be a point when x64 build is provided? Lol, I am getting lazy.

I can understand if not. Executable is double size, extra uploading 64 3rd party libs, not needed for most.

Can pipeline the builds and always show latest build links in original post if you have to keep them inside VPF?

Edit: This was pretty simple to setup without too much problem

Perhaps locale(1033) should be added to the core.vbs to assure uniformity of interpreted constants and strings.

So far we rather prefer these curated builds, so that people know if something is at least a bit stable.

And 64bit compiles are already possible and working. There is just no real demand for them.  :)

No worries, I'm fine now with that automated build and can point to there if needed.

I would prefer I didn't have to pull / push from the repo on GitHub though to get a build. Never looked into mirroring SVN > GIT but would be nice.
