Have you made any decisions about the head tracking implementation?
Just asking because I'm really interested in ordering the dual PS3 cam set to try with FP -> but before I do I would like to know if it will be compatible also with Unit3D? Or should I wait/check for another solution?

If you haven't already bought the cameras, go the kinect route, they are cheap now, my friend got one on ebay for $40 +sh. Just be sure it has the power adapter and special USB cable with it or you will have to buy that extra. It works great and you don't have to wear LED's on your head when you play pinball.

Sorry, but the Quote-button dont work in my browser.
But I want to ask if you tried the VP psysics in Unite3D and how it was.
I feel the psysics in VP is fantastic and if you use it you dont have to worry about the psysics and can focus on other things. But maybe there is some things that is broken in VP psysics I dont know. But I know people spend alot of Money on cabs just to play VP. =)

Unit3d has a much more advanced physics engine at its disposal than VP does. By all indications, Unit3d is set to surpass VP and FP in just about every way... It will take the best features of both of those old, outdated sims and improve on them significantly. If development continues as expected, I'm confident that Unit3d is the new future of virtual pinball for hobbyists like us. I can't wait for the next release!

Fp development is dead, vp not! I can't wait to see vp10 with dx9, full 3d, new physics currently in development, let's talk about it again in 2015

I haven't done any work on this for a while. Few switches , solenoids not working. Need to source/make some better ramp textures and more playfield but wanted to see what the video capturing was like now.

Make sure your backglass monitor is on the same video adapter as your playfield, don't use the onboard video.
Where do I change the video adapter, I can't find it?
I created a new thread and in bug/section and moved all those topics.
Changing the video adapter is not software issue: check that your screens are plugged on the same video card device...

I'm assuming that the tables must ultimately be built with another tool and then the pinball-specific mechanisms are edited inside of Unit3D?

Currently, from my understanding of it, tables are built using Future Pinball's editor (.fpt). You can currently open .fpt files in unit3d pinball, but the scripting is done in c# so until there is a conversion that needs to be done. Check out the pre-alpha thread. it's explained in there a bit more.
I think the goal is for Unit3d pinball to have it's own editor at some point.

Currently you can create original tables using the Future Pinball editor. Be sure to create a thread in the WIP area.
The DMD uses a modified version of VpinMame. All of the physics and animation are done using the Unity engine I believe. Check out the manual and website, it goes into some of it. Download the alpha if you haven't. There are 5 free tables you can play.

Oh, Currently it supports dual monitors on a single video adapter for cabinet mode but you can also play in desktop mode on a single monitor with multiple camera views and options.
In cabinet mode, you can just drag the playfield and backglass around to where you want them to be. Very simple.
The DMD is controlled by VPinMame. I believe there is plans to add DMD on a 3rd screen. This may already work but I don't have that setup to test it.
Does that help?
