So no code proposition from Freezy? I don't think the code should be released until a working example is ready. You're making really good progress so far.

brian, you have gandhi's wisdom , as usual Worship.gif

About your example =>of course it would work

I don't know if you noticed the return statement at the end of the second "if" of the kickin void .

is it unnecessary ?

i thougt the exit sub statement in the original code was here to stop the function if mballin was less or equal to 0

In the early stages of coding a project like this things are constantly changing and code has to be chopped and changed frequently. I would imagine having to manage other people changes as well would quite frankly be a hindrance more than a help. It's Louizou's baby, let him nurture it smile.gif

First of all, I would run a code formatter over it, but that's just me. But you're probably right, before losing time by explaining to everyone what's working and what not, maybe a first private phase is adequate.

The return is needed, yes.... my mistake not including it. Freezy, all anyone can do is offer to help - I'm sure Louizou appreciates the offer ( although I don't speak for him... ). See how unbalancing that is? smile.gif

I was just checking out some physics demos from Unity3d and this holds a lot of promise. Some of them were very impressive, such as the car on the bus and the "indirect explosion" test.

I can't wait to try out a table demo next time it's released

Well, so much for Marseille's chances in the CL. Lord knows I didn't need more reasons to hate Bayern.

Neat to see that progress hasn't slowed - this is quite the revolutionary project, and it would be a shame if it didn't pan out.

Our french soccer teams are really a shame !!
i'm shocked !! when you know their bills !! damn !! i'm shocked again facepalm.gif

ok , let's go back to pinball now !!

as i'm a little borred with the timing problem ,and waiting for francisco's answer ,
i'm gonna change my mind today and start handling the flippers !!

@superballs : i told you unity physics is a pure beauty .
I've tested lots of engines and i've never seen something so solid and easy to use.
Definitely an atomic bomb !! (as we say in france)

louizou - I know you are working on being able to use FP as the editor and then import tables. Have you thought about making this into it's own editor/scripting engine instead of having to reply on another outdated application?

I think louizou said it was quite a lot of dev work to program an editor with all the objects, etc. so he will initially concentrate on getting 'play' engine developed (the exciting bit smile.gif). Then once that is perfected he might consider doing an editor at a later date.

hi dazz, you're not the only one wishing this , but as explains pretty well settingson , the gaming part is half of the full job and the editor is the rest .

For the scripting part , it's totally new so i'll make no comments.

FP has it's defaults but have some pros we must not avoid !! such as model handling , sphere mapping , crystal ,etc ...

I've asked LVR to handle this part with his marvelous API but had no answer .

If you want a pure pinball editor , make a wish list , a list of pros and cons of FP and ask someone (why not him) to do this .

I can try to do it, but it will be the day after the gaming part is finished , all tables working and totally bug free .(it's not for tomorrow)

sorry....

Put this in perspective for a second - this new engine of sorts is making stupendous progress, and yet, it's been MONTHS and we're only now getting into actually having the flippers work. This will take a LONG time to perfect, and using FP as sort of an auxilliary program to create tables probably shaves a year off of the project that would otherwise delay the release and delay a table database being built up for this new engine. By using FP as a jump-off point, we get already created tables to work off of and an established editor people are comfortable with with new physics and VPinMAME support. It's the best of both worlds and it's faster to boot.

He was saying that he's a big fan, and if Louizou needs help he would be willing to as he's between contracts, he's a developper and it would do him some good to work on something that isn't a telcom. More or less smile.gif
