As I & others have said this is a great piece of work, so I don't want you to see this as strong criticism, just some observations that could help to improve the table.

QUOTE (slam23 @ Oct 23 2010, 10:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
- In the bumper region the ball has a tendency to keep going between the two top most bumpers when fed from the leftmost rollover lane and additionally, while the ball does that, it rarely pops up into one of the roll-over lanes. It feels not natural, more of a loop with sometimes up to 30+ hits before it changes course. Maybe those bumpers need an adjustment in placement or "bump" strength?

I've found this too, and it's unrealistic behaviour in these poppers - I'm sure it only needs a minor adjustment.

QUOTE (slam23 @ Oct 23 2010, 10:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
- Also, the ball escapes more from the bumper region at the left side of the delta quadrant ramp then to the lane at the right side (to the topmost flipper), and while it departs at the left side it's often going straight for the left outlane. This can't be really prevented even with timely nudging. I can live with the right outlane being a drain monster if you can't hit your shots right but I take exception to balls rolling there without me being a part in it, especially at that frequency.

I've experienced this too - it does also happen on the real machine a fair bit, but not as often as on this recreaction - and on the real thing it is possible to nudge it away from the outlane.

QUOTE (slam23 @ Oct 23 2010, 10:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
- I also have the kickback not functioning sometimes.

QUOTE (kruge99 @ Oct 24 2010, 03:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I switched from using a plunger to using a kicker to fix the High Speed kickback.

I've not had the kickback fail on me - but the kickback is way too weak - the ball only just makes it over the slingshot, whereas on the real thing, it fires it right up to the start mission/Q button (occasionally it'll actually fall in the start mission from kickback).

As I said these aren't meant as major criticisms, I think that as the table is so good it'd be nice to see these few issues sorted so that it plays perfectly smile.gif

Regards,
Dan.

Hi JP and others,
I hope I did not adopt a negative tone in my previous post as I surely didn't mean that at all, I'm very happy with the table and like Dan said, it would be nice to see if the few things that keep it from being perfect can be ironed out! It's nice to hear from real table owners how it actually behaves. Thanks JP for taking our feedback in consideration!
Btw, I'm now at 2,5B and counting....... smile.gif

Any feedback is good smile.gif, specially when it is about things that could be improved. I'm preparing a beta and I'll test it later today. So I guess in a few days it will be finished. It is difficult to find what's wrong when something works for the most part and then suddenly it stops working.

Just a small note to inform you that I have fixed most of the bugs (small bugs actually smile.gif ). The only one left is the cannon not receiving the ball and the table has to make a ball search to find the ball and send it to the cannon.

So what I have fixed for now is:

- the ball bounced too much between the bumpers, but it never went upwards through the lanes. I rebuild those lane plastics so the ball goes easier trough them.

- The ball left the bumpers too many times through the left side and down to the left outlane. I have changed the position a little of the bumpers and their strength, so I guess it is a little better now.

- The kickback not firing all the time. I still want to use a plunger since it gives a better kickback than using a hidden kicker. I have changed the left outlane to let the ball go up easily. The kickback is also stronger now.

- The cannons doesn't get feed from time to time. I can't hear the popper sound, so I have changed a little the timers of the under playfield passage and diverter. So I hope it has helped a little. But still I got the error. I checked the script several times and I don't understand yet what causes that error.

- Added the missing plastics on the top lanes. I forgot them smile.gif

- Sometimes the cannons are not placed right to receive the ball and they kick the ball in the wrong direction. I have changed the script a little,so I hope it is better now.

I'm still testing, I got help from Sheltemke to test the table, and it is nearly ready smile.gif We are testing now, so lets see how it goes smile.gif

JP

Edit: I forgot to mention that I have adjusted the flippers a little so the left flipper can hit the center targets easily.

Hehe, you were faster than me posting smile.gif

Well, Update 1.01 is up with many bug fixes smile.gif They were small bugs, but now it is the best I can do. Still there is the bug with the cannons not receiving the ball, but the table does a search and it serves the ball.

just tested 1.01.... I thought I lost all my balls but one during multiball, but I was still scoring jackpots. So I let that ball drain...then took a ball search to find the ball. Table still thought I was in multiball mode...so I let that ball drain too. Then had to do another table search but could not find the ball so I quit out.

edit: just wanted to say though that the kickback and bumpers work great now.

Interesting. This bug didn't happened for me yet.
