Unfortunately, it didn't come with a disk sad.gif I don't think it's an OEM version.

I'm probably going to build a rig from scratch for the pinball machine. Make sure I have plenty room for that monster video card and get EXACTLY what I want in it. My wife just told me that we have an XP disk in the original box. I'm pretty sure that it's what we used for my daughter's computer.

If you used it for your daughters computer, and you activated it online, you will not be able to use it on another pc.

Those new vid cards are huge eh? smile.gif The 260/285/295's are even 2" longer. Good plan to build your own pc. That way, you know exectly what you are buying, and the components are usually higher quality than the premade systems. Good luck.

I wonder if I can just purchase another license for it.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone for the help. Thanks to you guys, I'm still pretty stoked about getting this thing to work in spite of this setback. The support here is great... glad I found this forum.

So after getting everything set up for MAME, I gave Future Pinball one last try to see if had anything to do with the monitor I was using. And it worked. So I plugged it back into the pinball cabinet. Still worked.

I guess it had something to do with the updates that were just installed. I'm going to re-install the power supply and video card and see what happens.

FP kept crashing on me in Windows 7 64. It used to work fine, and I'm not sure what I did to make it stop. But thanks to KEG's advice to disable load image into table editor it's working again. Thanks KEG!

If you happen to have Windows Security Essentials installed, try disabling the "Real Time Protection" setting in the settings tab. I have to do this for my windows xp install or else it makes most FP tables crash before completly loading or they will load but have components missing.

I had this exact same problem. My speakers were not plugged in. As soon as I did that, bingo. Go figure.

Do you have Realtek audio in the motherboard? Cause I have that and I've noticed that it reacts to pluging and unpluging things into the 1/8 audio connectors, in these newer motherboards when I plug the headphone or the speakers connector on one of the 1/8 audio connectors a panel pops up and then I start to have audio. I think that the Realtek driver sort of get's activated when it "senses" a plug, it could be that on some newer computers.

probably something to do with the new version of OpenGL, it's not backwards compatible. Windows 7 spots your graphics card sometimes and selects a later version of your driver. It took me a day or 2 to work out how to get it to run on windows 7 but what I did was to remove all instances of the driver in safe mode (So it didn't try installing any rubbish) then I installed the older version. I then rebooted and located the dll component responsible for the OpenGL support and placed that in the same directory as future pinball (when searching for dlls an executable first looks in it's directory before visitng the central list library)

One problem I've found is that sometimes when there is a lot of graphics in the table the textrues vanish off of the playfield.

I managed to get FP running last night on my Win7 64 bit machine. Only one table so far - iron man. Takes an age to load in. If anyone has any ideas how to get the additional Dmd off the main playing field or how to get the table to load quicker I would welcome input.

Win 7 Pro 64 Bit Sp1, [email protected], 8GB DDR3 RAM

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 2Gb, NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 1Gb

Crucial MX250Gb Primary' Samsung 840 128 Gb Backup

Corsair CX750 PINDMD3

About the DMD on play field go here: http://www.vpforums....showtopic=22798 And as with iron man not loading fast there isn't anything you can do except for downloading the rapid loader version the only problem with that one is that you don't get the fancy video playing on the back-glass,  but if you know what your doing you can take the video from your current version and add it into the rapid loader version.

I know this thread is really old. But just in case some else finds this thread trying to solve to the same problem.

It sounds dumb, but make sure you have a speaker wire plugged in.  You don't even need to have speakers attached.

Followed all the install directions meticulously. It didn't work. Uninstalled, re-installed. Updated all drivers, etc. etc. etc. Still had the same problem. I would get the splash screen, briefly see a window, and the program would close with no error. Plugged in a speaker wire and it started working perfectly.

Win7, 64-bit install.
