Nice! How do I accomplish this with the VPW table? I posted a request on the support thread and this was the response:

I realize that pinup player needs to be installed, but is there no way to disable the need for that display in the script? I'm playing another version of the table that was just released and it doesn't require me to install pinup player to play the table. I would rather play this updated version. Cheers.

There isn't... well, you could technically disable it, but you'll likely lose pretty much all status information except the lights on the playfield and the scores.

It would take a bit if work to remove the PUP dependencies

It would almost be easier to take version 1.5, which would run without pup, and transfer over any updated visual assets.
The 2.3 version looks to have mostly done away with any flexDMD output other than the score itself.

I mean it is doable, but it wont be any quick endeavor.
Once you dePUP it you need to create flexDMD content to report the important things PUP would have reported.
And you could use the PUP media in doing so, but like i said, it would be a bit of a project.

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

My question was intended to see if there was a simple solution by disabling something in the script, not to try to accomplish the task by doing hours of work. There's no quick fix and I'm ok with that. If i want to play the VPW version some day I'll have to install pinup strictly for this table.

As you can see from the video, *no* virtual version of this table comes even close to the real deal. My objective was to provide a bit more excitement with the lighting on a table that runs well on an average computer on desktop, and without the need for PUP.  None of the lighting sequences match the real table, on this version or any other, so I'm not too hung-up about some of the other finer details either. It's just for fun - nothing more. BTW, I try not to use videos filmed in a dark room as reference, as it tends to skew the lighting.

The exposure needs to be adjusted. Most people who know how to adjust basic settings on their camera will look at the result of their efforts to record or photograph bright objects like this and make the appropriate adjustments. Some won't. This video shows clearly what i was talking about as does every other video on youtube showcasing the table.

I pointed it out because it's missing. I pointed it out so at some future point some one will notice and add it to their table. Can't hurt to improve visuals on visually stunning tables and that seems to be a very common thing in this hobby. Many improvements, many versions of the same table, over and over and over again.

I don't want you to get hung up and i never suggested you should be. Everyone that has had something to do with emulating this table will at some point come here to see your work. So don't think that my calling attention to your omission of some of the lighting on the table is a suggestion that you get to work and add it. I'm quite sure you have moved on to a dozen other tables that you're going to mod this week...

Bravo for doing it. We have a version of the table that doesn't require a day of effing around with vpx to get it working. I'm extremely thankful someone provides us with alternatives. Some of my favorite tables turn out to be yours instead of the VPW versions. That's a major compliment from me.

I'm using 32bit vpx and everything seems to be working fine. I'm also using ver 10.7 and vpinmame latest ver

Or play VPW version 1.5 as you can still just disable PUP in it.
It has a normal DMD with status messages etc

Well first, I have PuP installed, but I have only about 4 tables that I use with it, & this is not one of them.

yeah, if it means what i think it means, hours of work, I'm not doing that. Thanks anyway sir. Appreciate the info.

Installing Pup is really easy, only takes a few minutes. Like I said earlier I do not have the Pup TNA folder in pinup & the table works fine.

nice to know you can make a dummy install of pup.
no need to actually configure screens or anything?

TNA as a whole is difficult to run without stutter. My rig is waaay overpowered for VPX Core i9 with RTX video and yet this table still stutters on occasion, mostly when the ball is between the lower slings. The best reduction of stutter I found was to ensure that all monitors have the same refresh rate in Mhz. Any variation will cause problems and Windows likes to arbitrarily change them. Removing ball reflection also seems to help.

When redbone sent this table to JP and me in a group DM, it was to help diagnose ball stuttering. It was my first encounter with the table and neither of us had a problem with it and I was still on my 10yo computer, which has since died, and now my new 5yo computer also plays it fine. I've got dynamic reflections now - Woo-Hoo!   I think it has to be a local setup issue.

Turning off ball reflection cured the ball stutter for me. I, too, run VPX on a more than capable gaming rig.

Could be due to what the ball is reflecting on?
maybe too many prim faces or something?

hey there. has anyone else experienced an issue where the table crashes when the ball is going into the upper play field? This version is the only one that runs on my setup. I'm using a legends 4kp running vpxs. desperately want to get this table working but have had very little luck in doing so. the other versions have the glowing pink ball which is causing signifigant latency issues and crashes as well. i realize my setup isnt the most powerful thing on the planet but i am hopeful i can find a solution. apologies as i am extremely new to virtual pinball and still learning. appreciate any insight that may be offered!
