New animated Goal Sign and more Launch Bonus characters
 
I always wanted to add the Goal Sign that you pass by at the end of a level in the Sonic games. So I added it with a new "spin" on it (pun intended).
 
When you get a new ball to launch, you'll see the Launch Bonus cycling. I added even more characters to this (18 total) and more bonus options.
 
While this goes on the Goal Sign will start spinning and cycle its image to match the Launch Bonus characters. When you launch and get your bonus, the sign stops spinning and show the character you got.
 
When your ball drains, the sign will rotate to show Dr Robotnik.

Animated Spring Bumpers and Sunflowers 
 
I'm getting down to the last bits I'm adding. One of the first things I thought about adding was animated Sonic "spring" bumpers and "sunflowers" just like in the games. Well it turned out to be one of the last things I added.
 
I love lots of moving bits and "stuff" jammed into a playfield... and these little bits all add to the Sonic look.

Awesome table! :) I always wanted to make a Sonic table, with very fast loops, and collecting coins... but this table is already much better than what I could have come with :)

Eventually I'll have a full gameplay / features demo video that really shows it off much better than pictures. The lighting, spotlights and ray cast ball shadows,etc look really sharp.

Absolutely amazing Terry!!

Sonic is one of my favorite Sega games!! (Crue Ball is a close second!! Wouldn't mind trying to make a VPX remake of it!!)

Every time you post an update, I can't wait to see what you have added!!

It's the little things from the Video Game that you added to table that make it so spectacular!!

I like the Red Shoes Power Up and Invincibility Shield in particular!! The rest is simply amazing!!

Great job!!

I cannot wait to try this treasure out!!

 

Take your time and don't stress on completing this table Terry!!

Your health is more important!!

Super Sonic preview!
 
"GET A LOAD OF THIS!" This is cool!
 
This is the final mode you need to complete! First you must complete the 4 mania modes, then complete the multiball and hurry up.... all which give you 6 chaos emeralds. When this is done... the last white emerald appears in the Item Box. When you collect that you have all 7 chaos emeralds!
 
This will start a transformation sequence that changes you into Super Sonic! In this mode, you simply need to hit the right shots to attack Robotnik 6 times. Just like Super Sonic in the games... you are always invincible, so you never drain. I figured, its hard enough to get to the end... I'd rather the player have fun with it and be able to complete it. 6 hits defeats Robotnik, and the game restarts all modes again, and Sonic is back to normal Sonic.
 
This is the last major gameplay component to finish. Now its all the left over "details" like replacing all mech sounds replaced with Fleep sounds, finish up art on the apron, cabinet, room... tidying up the DMD, and completing HUD images to match modes and gameplay. Then lots of testing still.
 
When it's done... it won't have PinEvent (SSF, DOF, PUP) added until a later time.

The Last Details!
 
VR Room, art on pf / cabinet, hud art, decals, shadows, Fleep sounds, music, sound effects, code cleanup etc.
 
I'm almost there! Lots of stuff done!
 
I added a new VR room with some nicely detailed models. I could have gone really crazy with adding stuff to this... but I gotta stop somewhere.
 
All art has been finalized. Added more to the decals. Added all new art for the HUD for each mode,etc. Added some art for the cabinet.... and finally finished the apron... with credits included to everyone who contributed to this final table (past and present).
 
Fleep's amazing mechanical sounds added throughout the entire table, and is ready for pup ssf for when PinEvent gets added... later on AFTER this is released. (I gotta update PinEvent, and all my other releases for it as well.)
 
I also added some more sounds, and music, and have that working for each mode. There's some old Sonic... and some new Sonic thrown in there.
 
Just the final stretch of fixes and "details" to be ironed out. Of course I'll need to do an EPIC full gameplay and features video to show this off before release, so look for that very soon!
 
This is the part that feels so great when you see it all coming together... and damn it all... I'm pretty happy with what I've pulled off!

OK.... "one" last feature to add.... Sonic Ball
 
I can't believe I almost forgot to add this! It's the one thing most people ask about when it comes to Sonic Pinball. A Sonic ball!
 
I added the Sonic texture, but also added bump maps which make it look really nice with FP's dynamic lighting. I also added a yellow Super Sonic ball as well for Super Sonic mode.
 
Looks real neat with the Invincibility effect, and the Shield, and the Sonic Shoes trail.
 
This is an "option" that can be toggled with Magna Save buttons (you need to wait for a new ball to be created for it to take effect)... or you can enable it in script options.
 
Locking everything down.... testing.... cleaning things up... getting REAL close guys.

Sonic Pinball Mania (Future Pinball - BAM)
 
Amazing video showcase of new features, all Game Modes, and Super Sonic!
 
This new 4K 60fps video really showcases this table's stunning visuals, lighting, ray cast shadows, detailed models, and EPIC all new gameplay and modes.
 
You really have to watch the whole video to believe it!
 
Enjoy this video while I'm in the final stages of creating rulesheets, install instructions, pov CFG files, etc and packaging everything together.
 
Please remember this is NOT a PinEvent version (DOF, SSF, PUP). That will come at a later time.

BAM Update:
 
This table REQUIRES the new BAM update 1.5-345 that was just released! You can get that here:
 
 
Backup your entire BAM folder, then install the new BAM update (extract files from zip and copy into BAM folder, overwrite all files). Then copy these 3 files:
 
BAM.cfg
Reality.dat
Default.cfg
 
from your backup BAM folder into the BAM folder, and overwrite them (these are your BAM settings from before).
 
Set FPLoader.exe in BAM folder to Win 8 compatibility (needed as a result of recent Windows updates)
 
 
Install all Visual C++ updates (and reboot):

- removed older previous updates that are no longer needed (fake flashers, fake surfaces for playfield / plastics / GI ON-OFF, etc)
- new G.I. lighting (dynamic lighting - x4 hidden flashers in lower and upper plastics), new drain flasher for accented colour

- new rotating goal sign that shows your launch bonus character
- new Sonic Red Star spinner
- new animated Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Tails, and Dr Robtonik models
- new (Tails) Tornado bi-plane, and fly-by sequence for drained ball
- new Dr Robotnik Eggmobile with a flasher spotlight, that follows and tracks the ball everywhere (cool effect)
- new Green Hill Zone models for Loop Ramp, grass and rock, trees, totem poles, bridge, and animated sunflowers
- new animated Item Box: when hit it awards you items, coins, 1up, and Power Ups
- new PowerUp: Sonic shoes - trail effect on ball & extra points / rings for many things
- new PowerUp: Shield - shield around ball and slows down speed of entire table
- new PowerUp: Invincible - animated effect around ball - can't drain - kickback and all popups activated

- new Sonic Ball that can be toggled with Special 1 and 2 keys
- updated DMD: displays emeralds, coins, banked, balls, score, mode info and countdowns
- new animated Checkpoint - when hit will light Mania Modes

- Ring Hunt: collect all Rings, added dozens of new rotating sonic rings to be collected
- Magna Blast: avoid Robotnik's yellow Magna Blast beam or ball gets trapped in a few spots
- Tails is Trippin: Tails flys by and drops cargo and you need to collect 6 of them
- Bot Bash: hit all of Robotniks moving and static robots
- added models and animation for cargo boxes, Crab Meat robots, Gun Beetle robots, MotoBug robots
- new Super Sonic mode - collect all choas emeralds - defeat Robotnik
- new animated Super Sonic model and transformation sequence
- added holograms for explosion effects
- additional sound effects and music
- lots and lots and lots of new code for new content, changes, updates, and fixes

Sonic Pinball Mania (PinEvent V2) - PUPDMD first preview

 

Well, I'm getting close to finishing the first PinEvent V2 release which will Sonic Pinball Mania. Hard to believe its been over 1 years since I've done anything pup related. Here you can see the PUPDMD display is using the newer drop shadows feature for the text.
 
The 7 chaos emeralds, the 4 powerups, and the item box all graphically change to show what you've collected, or can collect on the main game in real-time. The text at the bottom gives you hints to what you need to do. The upper left and upper right show how many rings you've collected and how many you've banked.
 
Lots of videos for many table events are created with really sharp looking animated text and effects, with LOTs of colour. You can see Sonic running in the background... and this changes depending on the mode you are playing in.
 
Love how this turned out!

Love it all!!

I was using a portable version of Future Pinball FP2.5r2, just so I could help people with Future Pinball problems.

This Sonic table forced me to try BAM out, and I love it!!

The 2 in 1 Installer worked out of the box!!

So did this amazing table!!

After months of work, my EPIC new PinEvent V2 update for Sonic Pinball Mania (for Future Pinball - BAM) is upon us! It has a dazzling new PuP-Pack and PUP DMD display with slick animated videos, crisp fonts with drop shadows, and a beautiful HUD that displays everything you need to know about your game in real-time.
 
The 1.2 table update has also received many fixes, changes, and some EPIC new Sonic music that will please many fans!
 
This is also the first table to receive my all-new PinEvent V2 update, which has new features, simpler settings, and automated checks and control for DOF, PUP SSF, and PUP DMD features. This will allow the table to work for "everyone" without "requiring" extra vbs files to run, while also allowing easy to apply global settings or custom settings for each table for ALL setups.

1.2 - PinEvent V2 update Now available

 

(when site admins approved)

 

- added PinEvent V2 support for PUPDMD, PUPStream, and a new pup-pack with videos / text / overlays / backglass

- added lots of new music - new songs played with each new ball, and after each mode is completed

- small changes to playfield art

- various fixes and tweaks, relocated top most kicker to make the shot a bit easier

- fixed Mania Mode blinking (no longer blinks when lock is lit, etc)

 

EVERYONE using PinEvent V2 features (DOF, PUP SSF, PUP DMD) MUST read the new install instructions included in the table's zip file!

 

 

Table is now in the PinEvent Tables section! (pup-pack link is in the description section for the table)

1.3 update

- added option to disable the Shield's SlowMotion (the slow motion made the game unplayable for some users - 5 fps, etc)
- updated Install Instructions
- added new info relevant to the new version of Baller Installer

1.4 - FizX update! Now Available!
 
The highly anticipated first PinEvent V2 table to use the new FizX physics system for FP is here! The days of FP's old physics are gone!

This table has been fully updated with FizX for game changing new physics on Future Pinball. The old Future Pinball physics are GONE! FizX uses techniques similar to nFozzy on VPX to completely change the physics for the flippers, slings, rubbers, targets, ball behavior and more that allows this table play much more realistically than anyone ever thought was possible on Future Pinball.
 
You will be amazed at the difference!

FizX Profiles and settings
 
You can easily choose from different preset FizX physics settings in the table script. Some use a higher FPS for the physics (this requires a fast PC), others use stronger flippers!
You aren't limited by this however. You can change all of FizX's settings to completely tweak and adjust the physics to your own preference!
