I used them on your version: Firepower II (Williams 1983) 1.0
That's nice, so we can compare

I can't get this table to open at all in the editor. it just keep crashing VPX. Running many tables w/ no issues. Not sure what the deal is with this one. running vpx 10.7. I have been having random crashes but usually it's one and done and I can then open the table, but this one will not open.

What is in the crash text file?
Is there any error on screen?
Table itself, there is nothing wrong with, so the author probably wont be able to help much
10.7 should also not be giving you a lot of random crashes
Have you tried redownloading the table in case your copy got corrupted?
If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

No errors, just crashes. tried re-downloading table before posting.

does it leave a crash.txt file in the vpx or tables folder?
Looks like your audio subsystem is crashing for some reason
you might 1st see if reloading your sound card drivers helps
Or try reinstalling directX 9.0c

But it seems like from what I"M seeing, there is no way to uninstall DX and downgrade. I don't understand why vpx would not work properly with 12? Then again, I'm not too savvy with this part of the equation like you are. How would I roll back to 9 since I'm r unning 12?

Just download and install the directx9 package from Microsoft: Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) from Official Microsoft Download Center
This will not remove or alter the directx12 installed in windows 10 (or 11)

And you cannot even load it into the editor?
correct, it literally just crashes everytime and never even loads into the editor. very strange since I have over 900 vp tables without this issue. Should I try removing the sound driver, reboot and let it install again? Not sure if that makes sense.

Well, it cant hurt anything
Something very odd is going on though, and it looks audio related, but not sure why
This table uses no special sounds, most are ROM sounds
But the ROM does not enter into the equation at the editor
