I guess it sounds reasonable, though however you were doing it may work if you have 4 data lines coming off the Teensy...If you make changes,  make sure your entries in DOF Config tool are adjust then as well.

Pictures always help too, so if you still have issues, post some pics for folks to see...People will jump in and assist!

Well I tried that and same result. It looks like now the pc isnt comm with the teensy. No flashing light once you load a table. No led change at all now. Ill check some more later and let you know. Man this has been the worst part!!! I switched cables and ports also reloaded teensy firmware with good results. Once again all leds light during teensy basic test via arduino software.
Scampa didnt see your post earlier. What pics do you need and thanks for hanging in there with me. So frustrated right now. Ill post tonight or in morning as I might be done for today. Kids and family stuff. Thank you again!!

What's working and what's not and how do you have it wired
Post your Cabinet file
Open with note pad and copy & paste

Did you do the following:

1. upload the proper sketch to the Teensy board?  I noticed you showed BasicTest however that is not what should be flashed for running...  there are two releases here if the newest doesn’t work, try the other:  https://github.com/D...roller/releases

2. I see your Teensy on the breakout board.  Looks nice.  You should notice the breakout board has 8 wire connectors to represent the 8 outputs I spoke of before

3. Settings in DOFConfig tool looks okay from the little I see.  Have you downloaded the Config to your DirectOutput/Config dir?

4. Did you configure your Global Config file?  Make sure you reviewed the steps in this post:  https://www.virtual-...irtual-pinball/

5. Check your Cabinet.xml file btw...What you posted has a dash in front of some of the XML tags.  I'm not sure if that is just some weirdness with copy and paste or if its your file is bad!  Looks like:  -<LedStrip>    The dash in front shouldn't be there

if everything seems in place... register the com component as I mentioned in a previous post....maybe even reboot

Outhere, I will post my cab file again here in a few once i fire up the cabinet.  I re-wired them daisy chained like most do instead of having 4 separate data wires going to 4 separate pins on the teensy (Oak MIcros PAL board, which is essentially a teensy controller mounted to a breakout board...see pic).  I now am only using two pins on the teensy, pin1 to the playfield right input, through the strip (in the proper direction with the arrow) to the PF Right strip input (with arrow).  Pin 2 is wired to the left input strip, then on to the input of the rt strip.  So the LEDs are working in the basic test, but not in any vpx games or future pinball.  The only time in-game effects worked or controlled the LEDs at all is when you corrected my numbering system originally.  Then i got solid undercab lighting with no other changes or effects, playfield never did light at all.  I will re-load that cab file and see if it changes anything today.  Not sure how or why, but now it seems like when I load a table before the teensy would blink very fast as if it was receiving data from VPX but hasn't since.  I've tried switching USB cables and ports as well with no changes.

Scampa: 1.  Yes sir I uploaded the same file that was suggested on Major Frenchy's video which is the one I used step by step initially.  I only showed the basic test to verify wiring on my end and LED operation.  Meaning if that test works I would think it validates my wiring, the LEDs themselves, and the teensy.  At least hardware wise.  After the test i reloaded the teensy controller i.o. file.  I will perform again today step by step in the video which I did again yesterday, but it's getting hard to remember it's been so many times.

2. Yes sir that's why i originally used 4 pins since i had 8 on the board.  I also thought it might make the cab file more simple and is the reason i kept choosing starting LED as number 1 which outhere corrected for me and you stated as well.

3.Yes I have downloaded the DOF config fils to my DirectOuput\Config, also created GlobalConfig, and GlobalConfig_B2SServer file via Global Config Editor in Direct output and placed in same folder per video instructions.  I also have other toys that are operating correctly.

4. Yes sir !!  Only about a thousand times each time I changed them during troubleshooting....LOL......

I also ran the direct object register program in Direct Output once I made changes.

I'm not sure if it's orientation, numbering, if I've lost communication with the teensy or what? I would think that if I lost comm connection to the teensy I wouldn't be able to flash it or upload the hex files or upload the test sketch? Thank you both so much for the help, I gotta tell ya this one is kickin' my butt!!  I fixed a lot of "Technician induced errors" during this build and the cab is 95% complete from scratch, but the software side is eating my lunch.  I even ran about a hundred continuity and power checks yesterday all because I forgot to change the number of LEDs in the basic test to 401 from the default 120 !!  LOL again !!  at myself.  It is just driving me crazy since it's winning, hehe.....actually just want to play some tables and finish setup.  It's awesome what little I've played.  Sorry for the rant and thank you guys so much I truly appreciate it !!  I owe you both a beer if you're ever up here in the frozen north of Montana !!!  Standing by for your next suggestions guys.  Take care.

You computer has to be able to communicate with the Teensy for all this to work so if the USB is connected and the Teensy isn't blinking or starting then something is wrong.  Maybe try a different USB cable

I think that even in Major Frenchy's video he calls out one Teensy firmware vs another...so try both just to see if one responds for you.  I assume you are using the Arduino IDE with Teensydunio?  If not, use both.  For me, it's pretty clear when it uploads but I've seen another person have issues and he jsut had to reflash the Teensy with the correct software...

From what I can tell based on your other responses you have everything in place...you have to be close!

yes I would agree, and it blinks and takes the upload but doesn't blink rapidly like it did initially when loading a table.. I think at that time I had a bad cab file per your and outhere's advice.  Hard to tell with as much as I've tried and changed.  tried to start from scratch again yesterday but might have missed something along the way.   I'll try to watch video and pay close attention to the firmware this time.  I'll follow up thanks for the reply.

started over and reloaded VPX, and all files yet again per Terry Red's vid, and Major Frenchy's vid on the LED teensy build.  NO CHANGE!!  Once again passes basic test, but will NOT work with any table.  I'm going to reach out to Mike at Oak Micros and see if he has any input.  Please let me know what else I can check.  WOw is all I can say !!!

Outhere and Scampa.  Finally fixed it !!  thank you for all of your help I appreciate it!!  Wow where do i start, bad hex file on the teensy, bad cab file multiple times, and found a short on the undercab wiring.  Also think that a few pins on the teensy aren't working, but with all that up and running finally.  Thank you just wanted to follow up and thank you both.
