Strange, I didn't even noticed there were no bumpers !

ok got it, Gottlieb ROMs are not allowed to be released ... a shame ...

 

to help, basically what I did was save the 02 ROMS (27k and 978k), extract everything and zip in a single zip folder named shaqatt2.zip

 

for me it worked!

I just have both ROMs in the appropriate folder and the table works. There was no need to create a single ZIP file.

Should normally work fine just like you have it
Not sure why he had to create a merged ROM.
Nothing wrong with doing it, but you should not have to.

What I understand is that Teisen couldn't find the rom shaqatt2 (980k), as it's a Gottlieb one, he merged the rom shaqattq (978k) and the old rom shaqatt2 (27k)

Merge roms

Split roms

Slipt-Meged  roms

 

 

you will see that merging the roms is not only pointless,   but it might give you problems.

 

and FYI  this site (along most sites)  use Split roms.

My ROM is named shaqattq and 1.8 MB big. It works with the table.

If your ROM is 1.8 MB then it sounds you may have the first one doubled in one ZIP file or something.

I did this backdrop for desktop users (no idea with the backglass image so I used a side photo of a cab)

The newer version is buggy. The Rom search for ball sometimes, but she don't make a cycle to find the balls... The most of time, it's when you make a multiball, the rom don't give you the ball, and it's stuck like this... The only way is to restart the table. It's a bug that exist in real life too with this ROM. So, use only the V2 rom

I have a question, the script says cGameName="shaqatt2"

but the rom shaqatt2.zip I have is 28149 in size

and the shaqattq.zip is 1001428 in size...

 

so should I stick to the lower one in size or should I set script to use the shaqattq one ?

i tried the 1.8mb rond it fails... sick of going to dark holes on seedy roms sites.. no shaq for me... just not worth it for me... thanks any ways

I play many games with the shaqattq and have many multiballs. Never had any issues. No ball search or no ball stuck. Everything works fine.

VPX always crashed with this table in VR, when external DMD is checked. So I have to use the standard DMD. But with this DMD the display is much darker than normal. I have to move my head very near the DMD to see, what is written there.

I am not sure how much it may help but
In the F1 menu, you can try to max out the anti aliasing for the VPM display
 

And you could try opening the ROM in pinmame32, and clicking the display tab, and dragging up the brightness and or gama
and see if they give any effect in VR

They will of course possible make it not nice to look at out of VR

Hmm, interesting. I thought you need both the shaqattq and shaqatt2 ROMs, because it is a set.

It is rather strange though that the table would work with just the 27k ROM when the other one is 978k... I wonder what's the reason for the huge size difference and what is missing from the smaller one.

 

Edit: OK, scratch that... you DO need both ROMs. I renamed the larger one and the table stopped working. So no surprise there.
