I never knew there was a setting to keep backglass on top in Desktop Mode.

If you find it, let me know!

I have been doing it the hard way I guess?

I have always used the method above, and it works on all tables, EM and SS.

The backglass stays on top, on same screen as table.

@Quickdraw19

Try this handy dandy dB2SDT starter pack for DT users. (Added as attachment.) (Comes with Instructions, b2s.exe, and screenres.txt)

attachicon.gif db2sDT starter pack.zip

xenonph, thanks. However, the backglass is starting up fine with or without this change. I should have been more clear about my problem. When I load the table, the b2s is starting up correctly, but it doesn't stay on top of the main VPX window. I can see it by Alt-Tab and selecting, then it shows up over VPX. As soon as I click on the main screen to play, it gets hidden again. I've since tried other tables and it's happening with those too, so it looks like it's not a problem specific to this table. The B2S backglass stayed on top before I upgraded from 10.6 to 10.7. If there's a setting to make it stay on top, I can't find it.

You probably need to update your b2sserver. 1.4x has new features to get things to stick where you want. https://github.com/v...l/b2s-backglass

in the most recent B2S server you can force to top, long as vpx isnt in exclusive fullscreen mode

I've loved your backglass on top script add-ins xenonph and you really helped a great deal when I was struggling with some older system 11 b2s's. However, jarr has improved b2sserver to such an amazing degree it nearly completely obviates the script method. See my pics below (and the Dixieland pic above). You can now have not only the backglass on top but also split out a multiscreen b2s and have the fulldmd on top at the same time! Truly amazing piece of software now

Well damn I need to start reading more release threads!!

I like the moving the pinball window to right idea too!!

Would only need to use 1 screenres.txt, instead of 1 per table to allow for fitting adjustment.

Havent had time to try it out yet.

Oh but I will!! lol

i only use 1 screenres.txt

On old backglasses that are 4.3, i just edit the backglass
extract the image, load it in like paint.net is fine
expand canvas, keeping image centered, to a 16.9 width
then fill the sides as one sees fit
just simple black, or a texture or what ever you desire

delete original blackglass image from resources (in b2s designer)
import new one, when it asks to resize lights etc, say NO
then just adjust the light positions (which is mainly just moving them to the right)

Presto
non distorted version of backglass.
no loss of image quality, which on many of them is best author could find anyways.

no juggling multiple screen res files

Yes you can or you can still use a tablename.res if you need to make a layout different from others. Jarr has also created a set of templates for typical layouts and a right click context menu so you can create one already named to the vpx table you want to work on. Right click the table and a menu pops up for you to select a template. We are in the modern age now man :)

I fear change!!

I guess that is why I have never even owned a cell phone!! lol

Time to move out of my cave, and what was that round object? A wheel? That idea will go nowhere. lol

Sometimes I just need a friendly nudge, to get this caveman to upgrade!!

Hi Digitalarts

This is a fresh install and only tables added.
When I first loaded the game I added Diixieland first, and it worked.
Now I have added other tables (which work) I have somehow broken Dixieland.
Re-downloading Dixieland doesn't fix it.

I also have a problem with Double-Up. The game starts but the ball doesn't get sent to the plunger lane. This happens five times in a row (5 balls) then the game ends.

Maybe related?

Hi Digitalarts

This is a fresh install and only tables added.

But did you re-install the scripts?  With the errors that you are getting (especially the one with controller.vbs) it seems that the scripts are missing.

Thanks Djredick

Sorry if this is a very daft question: where do I reinstall the scripts from please?

Thanks KiWi

I Unzipped the latest scripts file and put all the new ones in the Scripts folder.

Unfortunately, the same error still occurs :-(

This table stores Highscore in a separate .txt file. User\dixieland.txt
Try to delete this...

Check again inside the Visual Pinball folder if the "User" folder contains the Dixieland.txt file,

the second error you get related to the Controller is probably just a consequence of the first error.
