just means go in your steam options and have it start with windows.. It should already do that unless you changed it. That way it will be running already when you turn your cab on so when you launch a fx3 game it will be able to load it

it's a miracle! I updated to the 1.4.4 update and copied your script you provided and the pupdmd works! only issue I'm still stuck on is when I launch a table, I still have to use my mouse to get control. The enter button does not work. but it works outside popper fine. and I can return back the menu fine.

if your computer is slower add more time in the launcher for focus

This may also happen on slower systems. you will need to extend the time to keep the player in focus after launch. go to emulator setup and modify a line in the launch script. You will see a line like 'vpxstarter.exe 10 10 60' you want to change that to 'vpxstarter 10 15 60'… you can even try 20 instead of 15 if focus issues still happen.

Hmm ok I can try that but my PC was a custom build with an i5 4core processor and nvidia dedicated graphics card. Pretty sure it's not a slow PC. But I'm not up to speed on what's considered fast these days so we shall see if this helps

Are you running Popper as Admin? Popper no longer requires Admin to work correctly. Sometimes running stuff as Admin will actually cause more problems than it solves. Typically problems that are fixed by running it Admin are actually permissions problems that can be fixed elsewhere.

Actually yes because somewhere in the instructions it said to run popper as admin but nothing else. I can certainly try it without that box checked to see what happenes

unchecked admin on the poppermenu.exe but no difference. However I can see what is happening. I found that if I load the table outside popper I do have the issue as soon as the fx3 dmd loads on top of the playfield so it steals the focus. I set dot matrix size to off per the instructions but it still shows???? then I tried setting dmd repositioning to off in cabinet options but that turns off the pupdmd then also. so how do I get the fx3 dmd to load behind the playfield so it doesn't steal focus? Apparently I can't entirely turn it off or it also drops the pupdmd mirror.

dang it! so I managed to get the fx3 dmd on the dmd lcd screen behind the pupdmd presumably since I can see the pupdmd when loading the table via popper but not the ugly old fx3 one. However, this did not resolve my focus issue. I still can't control the game. I'm at a loss. this is with or without admin checked for the pinupmenu.exe and I tried setting the launch script to 10 20 60 but it's got nothing to do with that. clearly it's a focus issue with the dmd regardless of what screen I sneak it on. happens in fx3 without popper too. hmmmmmm. off to work I go.

anyone please more help? I'm dyin here. lol. For giggles, I tried setting it to bordered window and although I was able to fully control, this won't work either b/c part of the playfield bleeds over to the backglass. ugh! So having fx3 set to borderless window completely jacks up all control. I have tried everything I can think of. with and without admin. I know it's not a popper issue b/c it happens outside of popper too. it's like when borderless window is set, it appears two screens are fighting for control and I can't figure out why. Perhaps I need to check out a zen forum under like a cabinet mode forum? Having trouble getting registered to be able to post. they are not sending me the darn email.

question, so I tried setting fx3 to full screen and that not only allowed me to control with the dmd displayed but it did not bleed over. Only problem there is now I see a small fx3 dmd over the top of the pupdmd and it's not centered. Other than that, why is full screen not recommended?

i think it had to do with focus issues.. turn off the fx3 dmd in options if you have the pup one working

It doesn't seem like turning off the fx3 dmd is an option. The only way I can turn it off is setting dmd repositioning to off but then the pupdmd doesn't work either. Looks to me like the intention from the instructions is to have the fx3 dmd hiding behind the playfield or around the same spot as the pupdmd. I'm seriously over this. I have spent hours on this one thing with nothing to show but sheer frustration and I can't find any good solutions for this. But this seems to more of a focus issue in fx3 and no fault of the popper since again it happens in fx3 regardless. Judging from the zen forum that I was looking at, it seems like nobody responds to posts there. but this is clearly an FX3 problem so I guess I will have to tell Zen support I'm not paying a dime for tables until someone helps me resolve this issue. Period!

Are you a screen set like this in windows

Attached File  Displays.jpg   69.76KB   1 downloads  <---  Playfield (Must be primary screen in Windows), BackGlass, Dmd then Topper  -- Not necessarily in the order of 1 2 3

Yes my screens are correct set in windows. everything else works fine. this is not a popper issue. It's definitely an issue within FX3 and only happens when the dmd is turned on. It's like there is a fight for screen control between opposing forces.

It's certainly shouldn't be doing this  -->  this won't work either b/c part of the playfield bleeds over to the backglass

I had tried other size options but they are all either too small or bleed to the BG. I should be able to leave it in borderless window but have got to figure out how to prevent the dmd from taking focus control.AND if I do the full screen option everything works except for the fact that the fx3 stock dmd displays on top of the pupdmd but smaller.

In windows your screens are scaled to 100% and in FX3 the resolution is the same as your windows resolution

Yes. But I don't think that should affect the focus issue

What happens if you set FX3 to borderless window and put the FX3 DMD on the Playfiled
