Is there a way for me to test the DOF outputs without fancy equipment? I don't see any code that specifically triggers when the gate is open. I assume it sends a signal whenever a solenoid activates and the gate is considered activated the entire time it's open.

version 1.1 does not have any sound calls for the gate

this is the full code

SolCallback(sGate) = "SolGate"

'Smoothed Solenoid routines for gates
Sub SolGate(Enabled)
	If Not LeftDelay.Enabled Then vpmSolDiverter Gate,True,True
	LeftDelay.Enabled=0
	LeftDelay.Enabled=1
End Sub

Sub LeftDelay_Timer:LeftDelay.Enabled=0:vpmSolDiverter Gate,True,False:End Sub

I added one to the rebuilt script

Sub SolGate(Enabled)
     If Enabled Then
        PlaySound SoundFX("fx_Flipperup",DOFContactors):
		RightFlipper1.RotateToEnd
     Else
        PlaySound SoundFX("fx_Flipperdown",DOFContactors):
		RightFlipper1.RotateToStart
	End If
End Sub

their could be two things causing the double sounds

like the flippers that where triggering while the flipper buttons where pushed down

The solenoid could be sending a pulse while the gate is open,  this pulse is triggering the multiple sounds

(their is no way to fix this other then disabling the sound or DOF call)

or

The DOF config file needs to be updated   multiple DOF calls where missing from the VP9 table

what is currently available may not match up with the updated script.

I would suggest to anyone that is having double sound calls, disable your DOF and see if you still have them with the scripted mechanical sounds.

if you still have double sounds then its a problem with the solenoid,  if their is no double sounds the problem is with the DOF config file.

The new code for the gate causes a strange issue.  When the gate is open it will sometimes twitch for a split second like its about to close and then go back to being open. It also constantly has that clicking sound like the original flippers. I've imported the wire elements, top gates, plunger and cabinet walls to my cabinet but not the full script just yet.

I've released 1.2 which will likely be my last version. Then again I thought that last update.  I'm shifting my focus to another table that I hope to have up in the next few days.

Howdy all,  Fired this table up last night via VPX and PinballX only to find that the ROM is causing issues under VPinMame 3.4 (beta).  I've re-downloaded (aavenger.zip) it but still errors when table starts and when using test in VPinmame? My ROM has a '82s130.bin' file not the '20252-01.bin'  mentioned in the table notes.  Anyone else having this problem?

EDIT:  Probably fixed it.  Located the .bin file required (VPinMame Beta thread page 46) and added it to the zip file and VPinMame started OK.  Will now try on the cab.

Hi,

after longer time (the game played fantastic, last date played Feb 11, 2019) I want to play the table again, but it fails on my both systems with a "rom or rom path error". I tried both versions of aavenger.zip. "Ignore ROM CRC errors" is ticked. The nvram is correct in place. What could I try?

Thank you in advance for any hint, Christian.

I did an update to the table in August of 2020. I remember there was a fix to the Atari ROM around that time and I had to update the table since it conflicted with the functioning of the gate. That is likely causing your issue.  I pointed to this thread at the time as a place where the updated ROM is discussed/posted:

https://www.vpforums...c=27063&page=49

Edit: make sure the file 20252-01.bin is in your ROM.

Hi DarthMarino,

thank you for your hints, V1.4 plays with the larger ROM.   :tup:

Sincerely, Christian.

strangely, I'm getting a rom error per below. I tried both the rom from the direct link AND VPU but it still says check the path. gamename is aavenger and matches the rom name. I also re-downloaded the table with the direct rom link. suggestions?

Mine still won’t work. Because of the rom error at start of table
