having trouble getting this to run 

i am using the  sinbadn gottlieb rom

any suggestions   

 

Same here, it wont start when pressing "1". It doesnt even take Coins with "5".

No Error Message at all. All Software are up 2 date.

Version 3.0 is also not working. Table starts and is visible but no interaction possible.

The correct rom is "sinbadn.zip".

Maybe you should look for a good or correct "sinbadn.nv" in VpinMame\nvram folder.

 

My table works fine.

Yes, deleting the nvram file will fix the problem. The file is called sinbadn.nv, but also delete the backup copy sinbadn.nvb, as it may be corrupted too. These files are in the vpinmame\nvram folder.

So, you can try to do this way.

 

1 - download again the newest table version. Overwrite the older.

2 - download again the rom and put in Vpin mame rom folder

3 - download the last VpinMame version and install again with setup 32 and 64. Check if all destination folders are correct.

 

The nvram file is create everytime when you run the table. Maybe your file is not being creat properly.

 

I had a similar problem with eightball champ table in two machines 

I have VPX working in seven different machines and was working in the others. So I copy the nvram file to those machines and now are working fine.

There is not even the DMD visible, when i activate it in the menu F1. Weird.

All other tables are fine up to now. I am checking all my tables for the most recent version alphabetically.

System 1 roms were fixed and updated not too long ago. (Sinbad is a System 1 table.)

You will need the new roms if you are using a newer version VPinMAME.

Use Google to search for them, as they are not allowed here on this site.

Yes i use the latest version of mame from here: Releases · vpinball/pinmame (github.com)
 

Thanks again for your help, now with the new ROMs it runs perfectly 

I used the wrong ROMs before.

On the four flipper version and the two flipper version, when the ball goes past the spinner in the direction of top of the table to bottom, the spinner doesn't move. I'm noticing this in normal game play and not when using ball control. When I use ball control I can get the spinner to move in both directions but when done slowly it barely moves when the ball is moved past it. It's most noticeable during normal play though. 

 

At the end of a game when you press the one player button to start a new game the table won't register a new game and instead it plays this weird sound effect. This sound effect goes off another three times while pressing the one player button. After the fourth button press the table finally registers a new credit and a new game starts.

Yes, that a known "bug" in VP: slow balls will not activate the spinners, and the ball looks like it goes through the spinner.
