This is my all time favourite original table - love it!
I just saw a slight bug in v2.1.0 (VP8), though - while fighting Herman Glassjaw, the ball fell out of the boxing ring and back into the main playfield. Only the boxing ring flippers were active, so I lost the fight :-(

Edit - Just happened again. When Herman got a lucky punch in and the ball fell between the boxing ring flippers, it got relaunched to the right hand side of the ring, then fell out from the arena entrance again.

I can't imagine how that is happening.. I'll check it out Thank you!

OK, I paid a bit more attention this time round. On this occasion, I just let the ball fall straight between the boxing ring flippers. The ball was not re-launched, but fell out of the right-hand lane (the green lane with the boxer/punchbag spinner). Hope you can fix it 'cos I can't wait to give that meat-head Glassjaw a good pasting!

Edit - oh yeah, there wasn't any nudging going on either.

Wow, that is literally just not possible.

The boxing surface consists of two walls. a lit version and an unlit version. The unlit version is a droppable wall; it drops beneath the surface of the lit version. When the ball hits the kicker hole that represents the ring drain, it is either launched back into the ring or it is destroyed and recreated in a kicker right below it to be launched out the arena door. There is no connection under the ring between the arena door area and the green trainig loop lane.

I am using VP 0.8.9506... what version are you using?

It finally happened to me, precisely as you said, twice in a row, but I had to fight my way up to Clayfoot Clemens for it to happen. It was as if there was a hole in the ring. Cannot imagine what could posssibly be causing it. Even if there was a hole in the ring where the ball disappeared, it is not over that loop.

Still looking at it.

Freaky - I just played it again and both times that I got to fight it worked perfectly. I'm using 089506 too, so I've got no idea what's going on. Hey, it seems to be working now, but I swear to god, it DID fall out of the green training loop from the boxing ring.

You know, looking at this closer, I think when it happened to me it was right as the ball was passing over the track used by the Ring Girl or her easter-egg counterpart. This is a set of droppable walls that criss-cross each other, and they do cross over that outer lane. Maybe there is a connection there.

I can probably "patch" it with an invisible kicker in that lane that catches the ball and puts it back in the ring if I can't fix it properly, but that's not a great solution.

You can leave your drop walls for effect, with an additional 'invisible wall'. This works in both vp8 and vp9.
You could set a wall to not drop and not be visible for the top and side. By setting everything to the wall that can't drop, that should prevent the ball from falling through anything provided that all objects involved are set to that wall's surface.
It will still work the same if you make those changes and save it in vp9. Some kickers can remain as kickerhidden, others will work better as invisible for now - in vp9.0.4 both types will be interchangeable.

Build a fire, vipers love the heat.

Well the wall everything is on is the undroppable wall; the "dark" wall rises above it and drops beneath it.

I'll try the invisible wall though.. on VP9, Herman Glassjaw dropped through the floor himself, and when he hit the drain VP crashed!

Oddly, I deleted and rebuilt the two center pins in the Fight Fence and the fall-through issues seem to have gone away. These were the pins I had to adjust going from 2.0 to 2.1... no idea why that would make a difference.

Anyway, I've put a temporary copy at http://dwjukebox.com...t Night 2.2.vpt. This version is in debug mode, so once you launch a ball you can press the F key to instantly be ready for a fight. Can you give it a try for me since you seem to have the problem occur more easily?

This version also has the VP9 fixes.

Thanks!

Wow- the debug mode makes this table soooo much easier!!

OK, so I've had 5 bouts this morning with various fighters and I didn't see the problem at all - looks like you've sorted it! I'll keep trying it, but thanks a million for (hopefully) getting it fixed so quickly -- Neil.
